the lake is well worth the trip to see its beauty, the surrounding views and the hotel. unfortunately at about 11 o'clock the hordes of tourists show up with their camera phones and it becomes a zoo. lines for everything and the parking is sketchy.

It's hard to find a more beautiful lake. Its free to see and only 30-40 minutes from Banff. You can easily take a "Kodak moment" that is suitable for framing. The hiking trails around the lake and to the tea room are not too difficult. I enjoyed the hike up to the plain of the 6 glaciers. There is an... More

Have been hear many times yet am still impressed with the view. It's always fun to go with someone who has never been there before and they just stand and stare. We had a beautiful clear day and warm weather so we sat on the Chateau patio and had a cool beer or two... if you can, it is a... More

Visiting Lake Louise had been on my bucket list & it did not disappoint. The view is definitely one of the most beautiful sights I have seen - truly breathtaking! The view is ever changing. We saw it in the rain as we arrived. I went out at sunset when the cloud had lifted & the moon was rising &... More

Our tour from Banff to Jasper stopped at Lake Louise. The lake is at the base of a glacier and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. There is a trail on the side of the lake. There are also small paddle boats for rent to go out on the lake. It is a great place to visit for an afternoon.

The grand scale of the resort with the view of the glacier-blue lake, the quaint little boathouse and all the critters that are running around was surreal. On nice days you can take a kayak out onto the lake, just make sure to look back at the chateau to see how gorgeous it is! If you have the time, take... More

You cannot fault the scenery at Lake Louise. Seriously it is one of the prettiest and most majestic places I have ever seen and I would highly recommend a visit. Even with the hoards of visitors there is a peace about the place that passes understanding. We visited on a cloudy overcast drizzly day but that did not take away... More

Beautiful view and some hikes I didn't take advantage of, but if you have to see either lake louise or Moraine Lake, I'd go to Moraine. Louise has a big resort there and stuff that make it feel more commercial and less pure. Moraine has a shop and restaurant there, but less concrete and no huge building, and with more... More

Lake Louise is every bit as beautiful as others have reported. We had two experiences. In 2013, late May, we visited only to find the Lake Completely frozen over and access subject to deep snow and ice. We had to pass this by but a few weeks ago in September, 2014, we made it back to find a sublime picturesque... More

There's nothing to dislike about Lake Louise. So beautiful pristine and awesome. It's the tourists that piss me off. Such an amazing environment and people are dropping their garbage on the trails and around the lake. We spend a lot of our time picking up other peoples garbage. There really needs to be strictly enforced litter laws but you never... More
