My wife and I enjoyed our hike around Lake Louise. We took part in Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont the previous day, so we were able to ask Fairmont staff about the lake and the hike; the path takes you halfway around the lake (to the right if you are inside the hotel), which is 3 KM each way. You... More

Lake Louise is a must see. Not so much because there are no other beautiful places but it’s a kind of standard target for every trip through the Canadian Rockies, in particular if one is doing it for the first time.

This place is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's true that it can be crowded when the tour bus comes in and all the tourists come at the same time, BUT when you walk and explore away from the tourists, then that's when you really appreciate the beauty of this lake. We were in banff for... More

This was my third trip to Lake Louise and it is always a thrill to see it. We had a really tight schedule and didn't get to spend very much time there, but would love to go back again.

Surprised to read comments here saying it was too touristy. The day we went there was hardly anyone there. We opted to walk to the end of the lake which took about 1.5 hours. The path was really good for most the way. The scenery was superb, the turquoise color of the lake and snow capped mountains. All the accommodation... More

I know that we were tourists but at Lake Louise there were coachloads of people and it was just too busy. I just find it hard to believe that the hotel has been permitted to expanded so much and yet there are no other services there - we couldn't even get a coffee! We though that our morning trip to... Simply stunning. The scenery is wonderful and I think the most must-see in the region. Moreover you can visit the castle of the Fairmont Hotel.

Overcrowded with day trippers on top of the huge number of guests at the Fairmont resort. Lake is a pretty colour but certainly not the most beautiful of the Rockies lakes. Emerald and Moraine Lakes both leave it for dead

WOW - talk a about slice of heaven on earth. This is certainly that place. A unique blue lake captured within the enormous arms of the Rocky Mountains is about as spectacular as it gets. It was hard to take pictures that were meaningful because the environment was so overwhelming. Have I used enough adjectives yet? The hotel was massive... More

We enjoyed hiking around and the setting is amazing. We tried to stop here on Labor Day, and it was just too busy. The next day, on Tuesday, we were able to park and enjoy the area. This place can be crawling with tourists, but everyone wants to see this beauty!
