Just returned from visiting Lake Louise (mid-November). This is one of the most beautiful views!! It was a 45 minute drive from Banff. Yes, there was ~8 inches snow. However, the roads were clear and wide. It is well worth the time to drive to Lake Louise to absorb such a beautiful view. Stay if you want, walk the trail,... more

On a recent 14 day holiday in Canada, to celebrate my 50Th birthday, we spent 2 days at The Deer Lodge, Lake Louise. This was a truly beautiful place we looked out at the mountains and had the creek bubbling down across the road. The room was basic and not very clean and the service in the restaurant was laughable,... more

Give it a try when the weather is nice. The rate is $50/hr with maximum 3 adults per canoe. For me, it was an awesome experience. more

Just simply wonderful all year round. Sorta expensive in the summer partly due to the sucky dollar. Food is OK if you're used to big city standards but it's fine by most measures. The scenery just can not be beat. more

Grab a map from a local information office. We had a fantastic time here. Get there fairly eary, as the carpark fills up - it is popular. A decent set of walking boots, lots of layers incase the weather comes in, plus factor 30 sun screen, and a hat. Grab a map and walk: Little Beehive, Tea Room 1, Large... more

I love the scene. Breath taking. To see is to believe. It is really amazing how God made all of this for us to appreciate the world. more

This was an awesome trail ride. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can hike to Agnes Teahouse by foot, but it's exhausting (3.5 kilometers, or 2 miles uphill; it takes about 2 hours to get to the top). The stable offers sleigh rides, trail rides, and overnight horse trips. They are available winter and summer. The stable is... more

We stopped by Lake Louise for a quick visit on a Saturday in July. It was such a beautiful spot that we decided to linger and rent canoes. This was the highlight of our two week Idaho/BC/Alberta trip: sitting in the middle of the lake and viewing the high peaks with glaciers on top, the nearby mountain plunging sharply into... more
