You cannot pass this attraction when you drive through Banff National Park. It was my second time around and it is always as magnificient as it was the first time! It is hard to explain but all the colours you see make this natural picture a piece of art!

Can't emphasize how different your experience will be if you go before 8 am. No crowds, peaceful and beautiful to take in the beauty. We did the plain of 6 glaciers hike, which was a moderate hike and had a wonderful tea house at the top with wonderful desert and pastries.

Easily the most famous lake in Banff, and definitely the one with the most tourists. After finding a parking spot and walking through the crowds you finally get a peak at the stunning lake. We walked a little way past the main viewing point, and were quite pleased to find it less busy, and your photos weren't filled with strangers!... More

As other reviewers have stated, when you arrive you are often greeted with hoards of tourists (us being two of them!). However we found a lot of them tended to stay on the initial entrance taking photos etc. Once you started on the trail round the edge it wasn't too busy at all. The trail goes for a good 45... More

Seeing Lake Louise is a must when visiting Banff, but be warned it is packed with tourists. The lake is a milky blue. I thought Lake Moraine was much more beautiful and natural.

After having an amazing drive down the Icefields parkway seeing amazing views with very few people about we got to Lake Louise and got an amazing view but lots of tourists getting in the way. A must see, but don't spend to long if you like piece and quiet

The view of Lake Louise at the Fairmont Lake Louise is spectacular. The blue-green water at the foot of Victoria Glacier in Banff National Park is just as beautiful as the many photos when you see it in person. The hotel has a long roster of activities available at all times of the day. There are sunrise canoe trips, midday... More

If you are driving past, then you must stop to see Lake Louise. I was here last year, and enjoyed pictures and a walk to the far end of the lake. This year I was back in the Rockies with more time and came back with a different friend but actually spent less time at the lake this time. It... More

The water is beautifully blue and every angle around the lake is a photo opportunity. There are many hikes leading around and off the lake. Be sure to also at least walk in the historic railroad hotel.

You can't miss the way to Lake Louise in the height of summer: one only has to join the MASSIVE queue of traffic, and then sit in it until you get to a car park that isn't big enough for the number of cars so you resort to abandoning yours, precariously, on the side of the road in the hope... More
