We have visited lake Louise on almost an annual basis over the last 17 years. It really is the most beautiful place and so well geared up for tourism whilst retaining the natural splendour of the area.

This view is worth all the effort to get to the Canadian Rockies. It is a truly singular natural beauty, looking out over the emerald lake and up to the glacier literally hanging in the mountain behind the lake. You will photograph this scene again and again and again.

Lovely off season. Disneyesque in summer. So many tour buses. Wall to wall people. I have been before and will go back again, but not in August.

Lake Louise is a popular site to visit so can be very crowded but it seems the best time to visit is early or late - crowds are down and the lighting is amazing for pictures of the lake. If you are an early riser, come before sunrise and you will see a pink coloring on the glaciers. Or come... More

The hiking trails from Lake Louise are not to be missed. The lake is beautiful with a color we spent many miles on the trail debating. Would you call the water aqua, cerulean, or a milky-blue? The hike up to the Lake Agnes Tea House was moderate in difficulty with a fantastic payoff of soup, bread, apple cobbler and a... More

We parked our car, and went around to see the lake, it was not visible as yet. When we turned into the area, I was blown away with such a heavenly sight. The clear turquoise blue water and overlooking the mountains, I could not believe the view. The Fairmont Hotel is right a the Lake Louise, prices are steep but... More

Very beautiful place but a lot of tourists, so be prepared. My daughter rented a canoe and said that was the best way to see the mountains. Very relaxing and peaceful (except when the wind picked up). I was there when I was a kid and compared pics. Sad to see how much it has receded to 40 years ago.... More

This was the most fantastic place, although it was the end of winter the lake was still covered with ice. The carpark was all iced so a fight began with iceballs, slippery but fun. The bathroom facilities were all iced up still so no facilities were available. make sure to look at the Fairmont Hotel, it is a most interesting... More

You cannot pass this attraction when you drive through Banff National Park. It was my second time around and it is always as magnificient as it was the first time! It is hard to explain but all the colours you see make this natural picture a piece of art!

Can't emphasize how different your experience will be if you go before 8 am. No crowds, peaceful and beautiful to take in the beauty. We did the plain of 6 glaciers hike, which was a moderate hike and had a wonderful tea house at the top with wonderful desert and pastries.
