Since we were going to the Icefields Parkway I wanted to begin at the southern end which starts at Lake Louise. We went up a mountain for a few minutes to this alpine lake. We actually went twice because I wanted to get more pictures. There are several camping areas, hotels and cabins in this area. We did not stay... More

I kept taking photos but they all look like enhanced post cards. It is ridiculously beautiful. If you truly want to experience it walk around it as far as the trail takes you. Extraordinary.

We arrived at Lake Louise at 6am as the fog was lifting and the sun was beginning to shine on the lake. This is the most beautiful area we've ever seen! We chose Banff, Alberta Canada for our Aug., 2nd honeymoon and we could not be happier with our choice! This entire area of the Canadian Rocky Mountains is breathtakingly... More

Although this is the most well known Lake in Banff I wasn't too happy with it. Yes it was a beautiful lake with such an amazing background in the Mountain that I have used it as my cover photo on Facebook. My gripe with it is that it is too commercialized. I am one for keeping places like this to... More

We visited lake Louise the day after light dusting of snow. It every bit a beautiful as everyone says, but with the snow and light mist the lake took on a mystical feel. The peace and tranquility permeated everything. A must see for everyone traveling the area.

This is the first place we stopped while traveling to Banff National park. I cannot express enough the stunning beauty of this location, everywhere you look is a postcard view. There a quite a few hiking trails that are also worth taking, if you enjoy hiking. There is a small trail that runs along the shoreline that offers tons of... More

I had seen Lake louise on tv and it inspired me to travel to Canada. It was much more spectacular in person than tv, absolutely beautiful. Wish I had more time here to go canoeing on the lake, I would recommend planning to spend enough time here to do this.
