One of the best but take your time!!! Too many people rush this hike. You start the walk at the lake with tourists galore. Then slowly they dissapear. Walk around the lake to the back of it. Don't go to the tea house or bee hive. They are great hikes another day. Keep walking to the glacier about two hours... More

Stunning scenery, easy access, trails with excellent infrastructure, everything perfect for a nice walk. The color of the water is amazing and the photos with the reflections of the glacier are beautiful. Reserve about 2 hours to get to know this wonderful piece of Banff Park.

Lake Louise is a very pretty lake with amazing blue waters and beautiful towering mountains but for our trip through the Rockies it was the low point. The first day we went it was just too crowded to even think about going. The next morning we got there around 9. We were able to take a trail to a nice... More

Beautiful jade Lake Louise, everything we expected. Got some excellent photos of the reflections in the lake, but the photos had to be quickly taken as it seemed like the female divisions of the Chinese army were on `Selfie' manoeuvres. Maligne Lake next door is far quieter and just as good.

This is a beautiful place! We had lunch at the Fairmont Hotel lakeside. At least go in and sit at the massive windows looking on to the lake and have a refreshment. A very nice stop :)

We went on a Chinese bus tour departing from Vancouver. We only spent a morning in Lake Louise which was too short - next time we visit, we will just fly in to Calgary and actually spend a few days at Lake Louise. We went neat late May, and the lake was still half frozen so there was no emerald... More

I had been wanting to visit Lake Louise for so many years, finally got there this year and the wait was well worth it. although it was a bit overcast, the fact that it had recently snowed did enhance the views and feeling that this is such a majestic and beautiful location, we have all seen the typical photographs and... While Lake Louise’s fame is well deserved, its infamy as a crowded tourist trap is also well deserved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a majestic sight—the peaceful ripple of the lake, the jagged green and white peaks hiding the horizon. You’ll get some great shots. But what those pictures won’t show are the hundreds of tourists just outside the frame,... More

The Glacier is beautiful and of course there were MANY tourists there taking photos and exploring the Fairmont grounds. Although the Fairmont is not as impressive as their Chateau Frontenac location, I believe the view of Lake Louise and the glacier mountain is a better view than at the Banff Fairmont. Absolutely breathtaking and worth the drive! If we had... More

We hired a taxi for half a day with an extremely knowledgeable driver. We arrived early to enjoy the views of this fabulous scenery . The water was a gorgeous Turquoise. We were also able to stop close to a black bear on the way there from Banf and a grizzly bear on return.
