Most people think of Bow Lake as a summer destination. But, we took the advice from Andrew Nugara's book Snowshoeing in the Canadian Rockies and headed to Bow Lake for an afternoon snowshoe. The snow was great and we had a fanstastic time snowshoeing on and around the lake. There were others on the lake on snowshoes and on cross... More

Adjacent to the Icefields Parkway, we first viewed the lake and mountains from an overlook, then heading further north, we drove in to a lake-access area and took in the views from the water's edge. From our map, I believe it's the Crowfoot Glacier in the one photo. The Num-Ti-Jah Lodge had a nice gift shop. More

As we were in an RV we stopped in a layby off the Icefields Parkway to look at the lake and have a coffee. Not as gorgeous as Peyto, but a lot more accessible. More

This is a lovely lake and ideal for families. Bathing is possible as it is flat. Good shop closes at 5pm and lots of loos. can drive right down to lake so good for people with mobility issues. We saw a black bear on the roadside not far from this lake. More

We pulled in here for a coffee at the lodge, not realising you could hike around part of the lake. We're so glad the lodge owner mentioned you could do this, as it turned out to be one of our best walks. You walk on a proper (as in worn by use, not man-made) trail, not concreted or boardwalked like... More

Stopped late at the Num-Ti-Yah lodge seeking lodging. Beautiful room with wonderful partial view. The old world restaurant served up old world good food and I slept soundly under comforter, to wake to the most wonderful sight. A little pricey. but well worth it. More

When driving from Jasper to Lake Louise, Bow Lake is fairly close to lake Louise and I think for this reason, a lot of people don't stop here, as they have either been to a number of attractions along Icefields Parkway, or they just want to get to the more famous lakes. If you do this, then you really are... More

Bow Lake is a must see. When we stopped there we had no idea that it would be such a beautiful spot. We ended up heading out for a walk around the lake and were really glad that we did. It was one of the best days of our trip. To see the different colors as the streams flow into... More
