Well worth the drive (about 45 minutes from Jasper). The glacier loop is almost 2km long and the upper part f the loop has great views of angel glacier, snow falling off the cliffs and cavell lake. Was quite windy and cold when we went and the lake had large pieces of ice in it and was almost frozen over. More

The best things are found by accident. Last weekend we decided to drive to Jasper for one night and explore what nature had to offer. Easy walk from the top car park, you can take the right or left fork as the trail goes around in a circle, right is easier as left is uphill from the start, total about 1.5 ks You finish up extremely close to the glacier with stunning views and the glacier lake with icebergs in it at your feet. You will see chipmonks and other small wildlife too. the roads are quite tricky on the way up but they seemed easier on the way down. It does get busy so it is better to get there as early as possible perhaps by 10am. It is... More

This is a short drive up a twisty road off Highway 93 (not suitable for big RV's). Follow the trail and you end up at the beautiful Angel glacier. The pool at the base of the glacier is complete with chunks of ice floating in it. It's an impressive sight and while we were there we heard the ice cracking... More
