Stand in one spot and just take it all in or try a long leisurely walk along the lakeshore, or paddle a canoe out to the middle of the lake; every where you turn your gaze you will find beautiful green. The mountains are green, the lake is green, the forest is green, even in the spring and fall. Refreshing,... More

Emerald Lake is not that far from Lake Louise, but the crowds are nowhere near as bad and it is gorgeous! I recommend you hike the 3+ miles around the lake - it is an easy hike and the woods are stunning! There is a lodge on-site, we didn't stay there, but it fits into the scenery beautifully. Canoes are... More

Emerald Lake is in Yoho National Park in British Columbia. It is 10-20 minutes away from Takakkaw Falls, Spiral Mountains, and Natural Bridge. It is 30 minutes from Lake Louise and Lake Moraine in Banff National Park in Alberta. It was well worth the drive to come to this lake. It is just gorgeous. There is also a small gift... More

we briefly stopped by on our way home. This is set just off the highway. You need a park pass to go there and you need to have it before you set off as there is nowhere to buy it once you get off the motorway and the first notice you get is on the way there and by then... More

Access from the HWY is short, maybe 10 minutes. Good and large parking lot. Only one restaurant which welcomes patrons for lunch or dinner only. And what if I want a cup of tea with a scone? The lake has a wonderful round trail, about 5 km. It took us a little less than 2 hours because we had done... More

If I ever visit this lake again, I will be staying here. This was such a cute and beautiful place. A perfect 3.1 mile flat hike around the lake is a great leg stretcher. This was my favorte place out of our entire Banff trip. More

The color of this lake is like no other around. It really is something to see. There is a 5 km drive from the town of Field, BC up to the lake. The lake has a small island in the middle of it that houses lodges and a convention center. There is a bridge going to the island that you... More

Great place to escape everything and relax - time just stops here. I cannot do this place justice so I will instead just try and describe the amenities and such. When you arrive, you must park in an offsite lot and take the shuttle (resort is car free, shuttle runs as needed 24H a day though). Each cabin typically contain... More

We stopped by here a took the hiking trail around the lake. Very pretty. Not as spectacular as Lake Moraine or Lake Louise, but very worthwhile and a very easy and gratifying hike. Also a good lunch stop! More
