This is a beautiful cathedral that really must be seen, not just for the cathedral itself, but the surrounding area is full of little shops and community events on weekends and some evenings. We visit every time we come to Leon! Restrooms are close but are 5 pesos to use.

This is an interesting cathedral on it beauty alone, but the style of the architecture is quite different than what you would expect in Mexico. Definitely go inside if it is open in order to appreciate the architecture and the beautiful stained glass windows. They are some of the most spectacular I have seen in Mexico. We did not have... No parking, also a lot more could be done to improve the tourist experience. The architecture is nice.

But believe me it will leave in your inner heart deep thoughts about how did this structure took them so long. So many generations hoped they would see it done. There is a... More

It's Mexico, not Europe. I thought I only see this kind of towers in photos of Europe but it's here in Mexico. Town of Leon, State of Guanajuato. My partner and I attended the morning Sunday mass to really feel the fortunate moment I had when I visited Leon (not for the shoe shopping but this time to see the... More

Beatiful church but would like more tourist friendly options like guided tours or at least a chat about the history of it

I was shocked to see a Neo-Gothic church like this in Mexico, but I shouldn't have been once I realized its nowhere near as old as the Neo-Classical and Baroque churches that dominate the country. I was in awe of the accuracy of the vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, rosettes, spires, and even the flying buttresses - but the real... More

Stunning, peaceful, magic. The catacombs are something unique! There's a beautiful light and sound show every evening with different themes. It's a nice place to visit.
