I've been to Cholla Bay 5 times now since 2001. It's not for those looking for a crazy drunken weekend. it's for those who want to relax and enjoy doing nothing. reading, eating, hanging out on the beach or patio overlooking the water, clam digging, kayaking, fish tacos, sleeping in the sun. Enjoying family and leaving your cel phone and... More

Cholla Bay might be a great place to look for sand dollars, but other than that, not to much there. Things seemed to be closed when we were there mid-week. Maybe more to do on the weekend.

We just did a drive by, but the area was so cute, with typically abandoned buildings that are unfinished to gorgeous little houses. The bay is lovely and a sight to see.

We enjoyed walking on the beach. We stopped at JJ's and almost deserted as was the whole town. I know this is the off season, but it was a little creepy.

Nice and old town, quiet, friendly people and out of the way of the busy town. Easy to get there... you can easily go fishing, plenty of fish all over!! We enjoyed the beach, nice walk....

my favorite place to collect seashells and sand dollars for necklace making. it is beautiful, easy to walk on, and go when the tide is low, check the tide charts, go at the lowest spot, you will see crabs, baby octopus both digging in and out of the sand.

My first visit here was in 1966 and actually little has changed. La vida loca! Perched precariously alongside a rocky hill at the water's edge, Cholla Bay was once a rugged outback for pioneering Americans who didn't mind living in a remote and dusty dirt-bike colony off on bumpy roads and 10 miles from town. Although "La Choya" now has... More

Great beach, very tranquil area, set up your gear beachside and go for a swim, if you have atvs, this is a great area to hang out.

I like going to JJs first just before sunset. Then wade in the bay at low tide. A totally peaceful experience. After JJs that is:)

Cholla Bay is great. The view across the water is beautiful. Water is clear and you can go down from JJ's Cantina and swim if you want to. Boats dock there and you can see their catch.
