Stopped here on a Sunday on our way to Cholla Bay and it was quiet, peaceful and fun. So much so that my husband was able to pull out one of our beach chairs & set it up in the shade of a closed-up building, sipping his beer while I traipsed up and down the streets thru all the shops.... More

If you love collecting Mexican talavera pottery, this is the mother lode! Anything from giant planters, planters shaped as rabbits, donkeys, frogs, pigs, trays, dishes, bowls, sinks, kitchen canisters, etc. are abundant in Artemio's shop - and he packs it up nicely for you in cardboard boxes. The Dirt Mall is also called Shack's Fifth Avenue, Rodeo Drive, or on... More

We missed this on the first trip to Puerto Penasco but will not miss it again. Unlike the other shopping area, this seemed to be much more laid back and the vendors let you look without hounding you so much. It also had what appeared to be a greater selection of items. The only downside was that there was not... More

Just when you think you've seen it all, a new shop appears that takes your breath away with a refreshing assortment of items with which to decorate and enhance your home with the unique Mexican touches that you love. Su Casa offers a first class variety of choices at affordable prices. You won't find the same old thing that every... More

I made a wonderful discovery the last time I was down in "Rocky Point". There is a whole area that has been revitalized. Its called Cholla Mall or 'Rodeo Drive'. It was full of fun shopping. My favorite was Su Casa. It had great gifts, wonderful 'stuff' to decorate my home. The prices were all over the ballpark, so I... More

Although the Trip Advisor locator map for Cholla Mall is hundreds of miles off (as are most of the Puerto Penasco attraction maps) this local "Rodeo Drive" tourist shopping center is very easy to find by turning west off Blvd. Benito Juarez (Hwy 8 into town) at the Avenida Revolucion traffic signal. Formerly Cholla Mall was a "captive audience" situation... More

Each time we visit Puerto Peñasco, we always take a trip for fun to the Cholla Mall, affectionately known as Shacks Fifth Avenue, or Puerto Peñasco Rodeo Drive. My first time there, I was reminded of many years ago visiting Olvera Street in Los Angeles as a boy. Though I feel much safer in Puerto than In LA... There are... More

This area has something for everyone and is getting better all the time. Parking is not near as difficult as the other shopping areas and the variety of stores offers a real taste of Mexico. From furniture and home accessories to jewlery and, of course those small items that you just can't resist. A trip to Rocky Point just isn't... More
