We took our children aged 6, 4 and 1 to have a train ride and visit Santa. The children loved the experience of meeting Santa and receiving a gift (one of which broke after 10 minutes of play). The whole experience was over in around 40 minutes. There is nothing else for the children to do when the train experience... More

We visited today with x2 5 year olds, a 2 3/4 year old, an almost one year old and an 8 month old and we had a great day. It was old and wet but that did not stop us enjoying the day. We visited Father Christmas, and whilst the queue was a big long and tiresome for little ones... More

I visited this quiet corner of England for the 40's event , it was lovely , an intense pattern of trains, my favourite blood and custard coaches , and plenty to do apart form ride . A nice garden railway , informative museum, a woodland wal , a model railway and some intersting stock awaiting restoration. Food was good ,... More

We took our two grandchildren to the Thomas day out. We thought it a little expensive but we did really enjoy it. The weather was beautiful which helped. The trains were a pleasure to ride and to see the faces of the little children when they meet Thomas is magical. They get the chance to give Thomas a drink by... More

Myself, husband and granddaughters aged 3 and 18 months went along on this trip. The children are Thomas enthusiasts and from the moment they recognised engines with faces they were rapt. They loved Thomas and his friends. I do find it bizarre that so many people have issues with the engines and faces. Can only assume that they think there... More

This was our first visit and as a Days Out with Thomas event we expected, and found, it to be very busy. There was lots to do for the children, including rides on the full size trains, re-enactments and magic shows. However the buffet was totally unable to cope and having waited half an hour to reach the buffet counter... More

After reading a few mixed reviews about the Thomas Day, I was a little worried about taking my 2 year old Nephew, but we went ahead anyway. Let me tell you there is nothing more that could have been done to make this a wonderful afternoon out. From the moment we arrived the staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful.... More

We drove up from London and happened to pass a sign for this place so thought we'd pop in. What a mistake! First off it appears that the place is about to close down (we constantly heard staff/volunteers bemoaning the fact to all the visitors). By all accounts it was an "operating day".... not much operating was had that I... More

after enjoying a lovely day here with our grandchildren last August they asked to return this year. What a difference this year. It seemed as though it was ' running out of steam'. There was only one man who was having to run anything to do with the trains by himself. He did apologise when we boarded the diesel and... More
