I would have had a great time with the dolphins if the whole process wasnt so driven towards making as much money as possible off of visitors. ..or at least if it wasnt so obvious. The jokes are recycled...you can tell all the staff have been saying the same things to each group all day. Once you watch the video... more

My family and I just returned from a cruise vacation to Mexico where we had the pleasure to visit the Sea Life Park in Puerto Vallarta. The park features the Dolphin Discovery where you can pay to interact with their dolphins (various programs with a range of prices). This was, without question, a major highlight of our vacation. The level... more

A group of 7 of us went there from Playa del Carmen. 2 of us participated in the Encounter and 4 in the Royal Swim. Overall, we enjoyed it, but I have some caveats. We did this in July 2008. First off, my biggest complain is the "free" transportation. We booked this. A bus picked us up at our hotel... more

I went to Dolphin Discovery and did the Royal Swim on June 19, 2008. At first, I was a little nervous, because there seemed to be almost 20 people ready to do the same thing and thought that I would be rushed. But I was wrong. After the whole group watched a video about what hand signals to do with... more

Well....as we booked our hols with Thomas Cook we also booked to go to dolphin discovery with them, definately worthwhile as they organise you alot better than all the other people milling around! We paid about £100 each, which sounds expensive, but it is well worth it for the 'Sea life plus' programme. Firstly we swam with manitees and sea... more

Dolphin Discovery is lots of fun. My sister and I went on the Royal Swim with the dolphins. The dolphins were great, and we had a good time. I do have a couple of caveats, though. First of all, we almost missed our appointment because the directions to the meeting place were not clear. Make sure to get very specific... more

I went to Dolphin Discovery on April 7th. This is my second time swimming with dolphins. Last year I swam with the dolphins at Xel-Ha. This year I decided to try something different. I purchased the SeaLife Discovery Plus swim for $199. This is the swim where you swim with dolphins, sealions, manatees and stingrays. We started off watching a... more

We just came back from Rivera Maya last night. This part of Mexico is highly touristic and it is not longer the country that I knew in 1975 when I lived there for a year. I live in NYC but I grew up in Puerto Rico, where tourism is also an important industry. Last Tuesday (4-22-08) we went to Puerto... more

Rating this one was tricky. The foot push and dorsal pull were amazing. But at $149 USD per person for the royal swim, I would have wanted a bit more time with the dolphins. The foot push and dorsal pull was the experience of a lifetime and the trainer was very nice. It was a bit disorganized at first, though.... more

Swimming with the dolphins at the Dolphin Discovery at Puerto Aventuras was really disappointing and a waste of our money and time (it was not cheap either at $150 pp). We were supposed to be in the water with the dolphins for an hour but instead, for half the time, we were forced to wait in line to take pictures... more
