Capt. Rick's Sportsfishing has 15 boats to choose from...from a 48' Viking to a 31' Bertram. The captains are English speaking and have at least 10 years experience fishing these grounds. All the fishing is done trolling dead baits using 20 to 30 lb. Shimano or Penn gear. Many of our boats also have a fighting chair. Two of our Captains are also experts at fly fishing, in which case you must provide your own gear. Of course, all billfish are released. Every year there are double digit grand slams (a sailfish, white and blue marlin in one day) and sometimes there are double grand slams (two slams in one day) and super grand slams (add a swordfish.) Other abundant fish are: wahoo, dorado, tuna, kingfish, and barracuda. Best of all - we set our baits right as we exit the marina! No travel time. We have caught sails so close we have released them in the marina.

Every morning I sit on my deck and watch captain riCks crews get ready for the tours. These guys take the time to look after there boats and gear and I have never seen them be anything but respectful to their customers . This is a group of men who enjoy their work and it shows! We were down in Cancun for my Stepdad's 79th birthday so he and I went fishing thru Capt Rick's. The crew of the Sea Phantom took took extra care with my Stepdad and helped him out considerably . We caught two Sailfish! It was late in the season and we were the only boat catching Sails. This crew knew what... More

The boats are all in great shape and they have plenty of good captains. Less than 10 minutes from the Harbor you can drop a line. We left the dock at 9, our choice, so our luck was not that great but when we came back to the Harbor several of Capt Ricks boats had caught a lot of fish.... More

I took my son to Puerto Aventuras for vacation and we had to go deep sea fishing with Captain Rick's! After some successful trolling, Captain Caballo took us for some bottom fishing. We had a great time landing many trigger fish. As this was my son's first fishing trip, mate Luis taught him how to handle the equipment. We had... More

We were going to Cancun for a wedding and decided to add a fishing trip as a bonus. the reservation with Rick's was made months ahead of time. Unfortunately, when the time arrived for our fishing trip, the weather was horrible and fishing was shut down by the Harbor Master. The staff at Rick's was very accommodating and worked us... More

It was a lot of fun. The crew was great. Would definitely go again! We even got to keep a huge piece of the Wahoo we caught and the hotel chef prepared it for us for supper! It was amazing.

It was a lot of fun pulling the fish we caught. Very exciting. Spent 4 hours on the water with the captain and the mate. They provided water and soda for the trip. Also they cleaned the fish we've caught and put it on ice. Too bad we've only got three fish.

My son cannot wait to go back and fish again, this was one of his favorite parts of our trip. The captain and crew made sure that we were on the fish and when trolling wasn't going well they switched to bottom fishing. It was especially good for the others on our charter as it was their first time deep... More

We went on a fishing trip for a bachelor party and had a great time! Each boat caught at least one Dorado and we were able to get them cooked at the restaurant on the dock. It does not get fresher than that! Though we did not catch as many fish as we would have liked the crew was working... More
