Have played the Campo De Golf Ixtapa several times. It is supposed to be a Robert Trent Jones design but since it is owned by Fonatur, the course is poorly maintained. Old rickety carts and mismatched rental clubs. Pretty pricey also at 1200 pesos/ 18 hoyos. On the other hand, the layout is very nice and there are some challenging... More

We wanted to play golf. There was no one on the course and the course is not in great shape. The rates are not worth it and they wouldn't negotiate with us and we wanted to play, rent a buggy, but balls and tees and we would pay the standard rates for the buggy, balls and tees but asked for... Played this course middle of May 2015 and the condition was beyond disappointing. Only a few of the fairways had been mowed but the majority of them were long enough to qualify as rough. The greens were the only bright spot on the course and many of them had holes in them an inch or so deep. We inquired about... More

I had researched this course before our trip and was impressed enough to drag my sticks from Michigan to play a round or two. First misrepresentation was that their internet info showed a golf rate of 600 pesos. When I arrived at the golf course I was told that the rate was 1200 pesos and that two of the holes... More

I guess they forgot to plug them in. Hole number 15 was being worked on. Before waisting your time you better call first to see if its playable.

We got a great deal through our hotel. Nice place to play and the beer guy comes around often. Crocs on the course is kind of cool. Two nice holes on the beach.

Somehow this bunch has come to believe that they are Pebble Beach or Laquinta. They charge as though they're excluse, then submit you to a golf course whose conditions are consistent with a poorly maintained 'muni' -- traps poor and greens even worse. Nice scenery, though -- and the crocs seem to be well-fed.

I played Campo after 2pm in order to take advantage of reduced rate. I teed off around 2:30 and only saw one other twosome the entire rounds. The golf course was decent, Ixtapa is not really know as a golf destination so my expectations were not that high. The course was in good shape, except for the bunkers which were... More

The president of Mexico came to town and played here last Saturday. I live off the 16th tee and it was the first time in 10 years I saw someone actually rake the sand trap on 16. Thousands of man hours were spent making the course look great for the pres so I need to get out and play it... More

Played 5 of our 7 days between the two courses in Ixtapa. Particularly enjoyed the Campo de Golf. I must mention Adrian our caddy. Great fellow and very helpful, especially reading the greens. Had him caddy each round at the Campo. Be sure to ask for Adrian when making a tee time. He's great. The course is interesting and fair... More
