You can come in the morning to watch the fishermen unload fish but I was not too impressed by this beach and it is certainly not for swimming.

a real hole , not to clean and not too pleasant, the restaurants look poor and taste worse, we tried the best looking one, and we got a fish with odd smell wholly soaked in oil. skip this part , you have much much better choices in puerto escondido, don't spoil your vacation.

I don't swim here but in the mornings between about 7 and 8am the fishermen come back in to shore and sell their catch, straight from the boat to the buyer. Fantastic stuff, love to watch it all going on. If i ate fish, this is no doubt where I would buy it from!

This could have been a great beach but it is full of fishing boats both off-shore and on the beach. However there are lots of chairs and shade umbrellas for rent and food service. No sunset viewing from here makes it a locals kind of place most tourists would rather avoid.

Great way to spend the day - the Mexican family that sets up on the beach will get whatever you want drinks, food etc - they send a runner to pick up whatever you order. Liza's makes awesome margaritas. Everyone was friendly. A great Mexican Beach experience>

I take my young kids to swim at this beach because there is always a lifeguard on duty and fun waves to ride a bodyboard. In summer the waves are better/bigger but still a good family beach. Any afternoon their will be 20+ local kids learning to bodyboard but still plenty of room for visitors to have ago on rented... More

We spend our days sitting a Restaurant Liza under palapas or on her deck and enjoy great food and drinks, watching the waves and swimming in them when it gets hot. A perfect Mexican beach experience.

It was a great place to relax, get lots of sun, rent an umbrella and chair, and go for a boat ride. Restaurants are nearby. It's all about relaxation and the swimming is safe although vigorous here as compared to the Zicatela.

I live in Ca. But i own a trailer on the entrance to Playa Marinero. I stay down there approx. 3 mos.out of the year, and spend alot of time on Marinero. The beach is the best for swimming, boogie boarding, body surfing, and for smaller children.Water is warm, clear. It is by far the best kick back beach around.Al.
