Who woulda thought a Laguna could be so interesting

When I heard we were going to visit a Laguna, I imagined a small muddy lake. I guess that's why I'm not an ornithologist. But Lalo is, and his tour of this paradise of migratory and native birds was the highlight of our trip to Puerto Escondido. He took us out in a small and quiet motorboat to the manglaves,... More

Here you can swim in the phosphorescent lagoon ... just like in the movie "The Life of Pi". As the luminescence is activated by the movement of the water... it will be an unforgettable experience. Great to do with kids!

A must see location, go to this location just before sunset. Take the boat tour and see how many types of different birds you can spot and identify. A natural habitat made by a sand reef which separates the lagoon from the sea. As evening comes you will see a display of glowing phosphorus within the lagoon. Spend you dinner... More

Went there and stopped by to take a tour. We went with a young guy who knew a lot about the area and the fauna. Enjoyed it !

We had a great time kayaking on this lagoon! Much of the local fauna frequents the lagoon, and several local guides offer tours. We stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe, which connected us with a guide who gave us great, bilingual tour of the lake, and even knew the names of the birds in both Spanish and English! Very impressive!

My husband and I just finished our 3rd trip with Lalo-EoTours; and our tour guide "Eve" is the best (pronounced "Evvy")! His English is excellent as is his knowledge of the local birds. He picked us up at our casita in Puerto Escondido early in the morning and drove to the Lagoon - about 40 minutes away. His launch was... More

On the west end of Laguna Manialtepec is Puerto Swelo. We got there by boat(from the Laguna), great place to eat, Jaunita made us more lunch than we could possibly finish, then walked down the beach to where the Laguna exits into the Pacific...there were literally hundreds if not thousands of birds. After a swim,( it was a nice swimming... More
