If you are in Puerto Escondido you must come to watch this spectacular phenomenon. The bioluminescence is the emission of light by a living organism. When you dive into the water you can see the blue light around you, it's spectacular! A boat with a guide will take you to the right point of the lagoon where you can see... More

The 30-min plus boat ride to the actual lagoon where the bioluminescent waters are, was quite refreshing and fascinating...large white igrits and schools of silvery jumping fish all along the way.

We have done this tour twice. We were picked up on time at our accommodation and driven to the Laguna. It was an enjoyable and informative day...especially if you like the native birds.

We loved this tour during our visit to Puerto Escondido. We were taken in a nice boat (with shade) around the lagoon and saw beautiful wildlife - birds and fish mostly. We were taken to a little inlet where we beached the boat. We walked 100 yards and there was the ocean! We sat down for a beer and the... More

We went with Michael Malone of Hidden Voyages Ecotours and it was great. At breakfast on the beach ( not included but very inexpensive) Michael pulled out the bird lists and made sure we had the names of the 47 species we had seen.

We went there with only locals, who are still excited to see the biolumiscence. we went out on a boat and the guide explained everything, which was interesting. When we arrived at the spot where we should see the glowing, we were somhow disappointed at first, as the glowing was really weak. But the more people went into the water,... More

You must go, the place is amazing. Plan ahead. Puesta de Sol restaurant has the best organized tours (and their food is pretty good). We ate, did kayaking and did the bioluminescence tour. New moon is best, and during rainy season. Be prepared to swim

We took a tour for 250$, it picked us up from out hotel and after 30 minutes we arrived to the laguna and took a boat to the middle of it. The water is warm and there are no fish swiming near you ( thank God). I have never in my life seen so many stars while swiming in warm... More

I understand the experience can vary here from day to day, but when my husband and I went, it was amazing. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would highly recommend to any travelers in the area.
