We were in PE during a full moon, so we missed the phosphorescence, but enjoyed a very nice half-day tour with the Lalos, father and son. We went on a night excursion with Lalo Eco Tours to the lagoon at night to witness the phosphorescent glow that occurs during the new and old moon. Basically, the lagoon fills up with a type of plankton that contains chloroform and a blue substance which gives off a glow when disturbed by currents. It's an amazing site to see... more
