Windsor to Toronto roundtrip! All ABOARD!

I must begin by stating that I have not travelled on the train for many years. Part of what drew me back were the childhood memories of long ago. The train left the newly... read more

In Oct my wife and I travelled Business from Montreal to Quebec and return. What a wonderful experience! The carriages were modern, clean and comfortable and the ride smooth and quiet. The staff were professional and friendly (one even recognised us a week later on our return journey!). Soon after the train departed we were offered coffee and pastries and... More

I must begin by stating that I have not travelled on the train for many years. Part of what drew me back were the childhood memories of long ago. The train left the newly built Windsor train station on an early Tuesday morning. 5:30 a.m. to be exact. Only a handful of passengers so there was plenty of room in... More

Awesome way to travel - no worries about directions, parking the car, finding the hotel - lots of exercise walking all over the city. This was Norm's birthday visit and we could not be more pleased with everything. The train is a wonderful way to go and we will be doing this again soon!

I travelled "business class" from Toronto to Montreal on train 66 on November 7, 2013. After negotiating the construction site at Union Station I arrived at VIA's lounge where I waited for my departure to be called, so far so good. Upon arrival at the gate and having my luggage weighted I was directed to the escalator up to reach... More

Since I was a child I wanted to take the train out west. We finally did in September and it was wonderful! We went first class with our own cabin and were treated like royalty. Union Station in Toronto has been undergoing renovations for a couple of years now but the VIP lounge is still in its glory. It was... More

Our great disappointment was "The Canadian" train trip from Toronto to Vancouver by Canadian rail. We knew there had been a major train accident near Edmonton which could and did delay our train by over 7 hours. When first asked at Toronto they basically denied any issue with the track would cause any problem, we knew it would. All through... More

I love the train. It is a great way to travel into Toronto without the stress of driving. Booking on line is easy and frequent sales make economy seats good value for the money. I have noticed that some of the cars are rather grubby. Particularly the pull out tables and the arm rests. Perhaps some deep cleaning might be... More

It's been many, many years since I last undertook a long train journey, so I had no real expectations when I booked journeys from Vancouver to Toronto to Quebec, with stops in between. That I was not at all disappointed was due in the main to the attentions of the staff on all sections. The carriages on the Canadian are... More

A friend and I took advantage of an $88 return price from Toronto to Montreal, but for the amount of agony involved next time I will pay more, stay for longer, and fly Porter instead. On the trip to Montreal, the minute we entered the car we were hit with a wall of 20 year old stale cigarette stench. It... More

On September 14 my husband and I took The Canadian from Winnipeg to Jasper, and then a week later from Jasper to Vancouver. It was the part of the trip I was most looking forward to; I had never gone cross-country on a train, let alone in a sleeper car. I was not disappointed. We booked a private cabin for... More
