I spent 4 days here recently. It was my third visit to this area. Melaque is growing. I was amazed by the addition of the PAVED seawalkway to the NEW restaurant on the little "island" on the north side of the beach! They are still working on it but it looks like it will be a neat place to watch... more

Just spent two weeks at the Laguna del Tule bungalows in Melaque. Good place to stay, payed 3500 pesos for two weeks on a sandy beach with decent clean rooms,friendly people run the place and the kitchen proved great complete with a blender! Hotel Hidalgo in Melaque. a tiny, clean, well maintained and very, very cheap hotel. Not too big, clean, right on the beach, good restaurant right next door, handy to an Internet cafe,cambio, and bank, great breakfast right across the street (Harvey's) -- very comfortable and relaxing except on weekends when all the Guadalajara families move in. We spent 3 1/2 weeks and loved it! more
