A lot of locals go here becuase the water stays very calm and is a great place for a day of family swimming at the beach. Tenacatita Beach is under siege by an unwelcome landowner, with armed gaurds. Concerns for all evicted - hopefully the news will be good - this lovely area deserves proper fair management and true public access returned. Visiting is not a problem, just weird. Last Fall the owner of the property on and surrounding this beach decided to evict all the restaurant and bars and take back all the land. It is no longer open to the public and is defended by police and security guards. This gem is lost to us...at least for now. More

I was swimming in Tenacatita about 2 days ago. It was fabulous!!! Soft sand that seemingly goes on forever. We had the pleasure of a daytrip to Tenacatita Beach with some of the locals from Melaque. It truly IS a hidden treasure. The water is beautiful and safe to swim and snorkel in (lots and LOTS of colourful fish!!!) It was a great day I will never forget. If you get the chance to see it, do go! More
