You will not believe it is the Pacific, so different to California, the water is warm, calm and transparent, several hotels but not crowded as P.Vallarta, great place to enjoy a few days of beautiful beaches and ocean. More

Sad to say the beach is still under guard but it is open to the public and the beach was not damaged by hurricane Jova. The problem besides the police presence is .... there are no restaurants, no bathrooms, no alcohol allowed and very little shade. Hours are 8am to 6pm. Another good option is La Vena beach thru the... More

Because of the recent storm they had the beach was washed away for a great part. As we were there mainly for the beach we took a bus to Melaque and went to the beach there. More

A lot of locals go here becuase the water stays very calm and is a great place for a day of family swimming at the beach. Theres tons of restaurants lined up for you to eat at as well as vendors for floaties and whatnot. Take something to float on, drink a margarita and enjoy a fun day here. the... More

Tenacatita Beach is under siege by an unwelcome landowner, with armed gaurds. Concerns for all evicted - hopefully the news will be good - this lovely area deserves proper fair management and true public access returned. Visiting is not a problem, just weird. We went with Ray's Tours, The Only Tours. More

Last Fall the owner of the property on and surrounding this beach decided to evict all the restaurant and bars and take back all the land. It is no longer open to the public and is defended by police and security guards. This gem is lost to us...at least for now. More

I was swimming in Tenacatita about 2 days ago. It was fabulous!!! Soft sand that seemingly goes on forever. No rocks to scramble over, nice warm water....Not many tourists this time of year...and few vendors....the other side of the beach, up the hill, is a great view spot, "wilder "" beaches, rocky but great photo ops....and BUGS. The small nasty... More

We had the pleasure of a daytrip to Tenacatita Beach with some of the locals from Melaque. It truly IS a hidden treasure. The water is beautiful and safe to swim and snorkel in (lots and LOTS of colourful fish!!!) It was a great day I will never forget. If you get the chance to see it, do go! More
