I guess I'm very much ignorant in architecture and for me the cathedral in Puebla could be any other big church built in colonial times in any place in Latin America, but still all these buildings are quite amazing and if you are in Puebla, it's definitively worth to visit the cathedral

Use of natural light is extraordinary for a cathedral of this age. One thing I found odd was that the candles lit by each altar are electric, not real flames.

I live in Mexico City and you get to see the biggest cathedral of the country and it's impressive, but once you know this one you are amazed as well. It's really beautiful and if you get to hear the legend of the main bell and how it got there, you will just love it more. Try the restaurants in... More

Right on the zocalo, the cathedral's interior is cavernous, filled with little side chapels. The organ is especially ornate.

I was happy to finally see the huge cathedral after people told me it's larger than the one in Mexico City. It didn't dissapoint! The cathedral is beautiful, with many fine details on the gates surrounding it.

This is a very beautiful Cathedral! It reminds me a lot of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compestela. Although the Cathedral is amazing, the Mass we stayed for was rather lax. Definitely worth staying for Mass though. They have bathrooms tucked away outside the Cathedral and it costs $3 pesos to use it.

Even if you only have a few minutes to spare, it is worth taking a quick look inside the main door. The cool air inside was in stark contrast to the heat in the Zocalo outside. As soon as you enter your eyes will naturally look to the alter and then up to the roof. The thing that hit me... More
