Zacatecas is a historical city that has gentrified many of its buildings to serve the needs of a 21st Century population. Teatro Calderon is just one of these amazing places. The city is safe, the culture is popping, the walking is great, and the food, I can't even explain.

It's a beautiful old theater, very well preserved and elegant. If there's a spectacle in there while you're in Zacatecas, it must be great.

We stayed in Zacatecas in September and didn't really want to go out to a bar and there was a cool Beatle covers concert in the main hall of the Theater ... really cool and almost surreal given how intricate the ols theater is inside ... super-cool and worth a tour or an event.

when we were there in the summer of '08 you could walk in in the evenings and heck it out. Groups of children were rehearsing and there was always actvity there. Down the steps from the Theatre dont forget to go into the "El-vis" bar and have a victoria beer. Nice little place for a beer and a snack
