The Temple of Las Rosas was part of the Sta Catalina Convent (1595AC) and is one of the only two golden baroque altarpieces left in the city. Very interesting to note is that you enter the church by the side, because at the back were the chorus for the nuns. Just in front, there a lovely plaza with picturesque restaurants... More

While staying in San Miguel de Allende a few friends decide to take a drive (hour away) to Santa Rosa de Lima to shop this amazing store that has beautiful hand painted pottery. WOW what a find! We spent some time in this lovely and ornate church with incredible art work in the rear gallery area. I recommend this church because it's smaller and seems different from the dozens of others we've seen in Mexico over the years.
