My husband and I only had a few days to spend in Italy, en route to see our son in Switzerland. We so wanted to experience a "cooking holiday" and were delighted that Convivio offered a one day course. We stayed in Toffia for 2 nights, in accommodation suggested by our cooking hosts Sally & Guido. To get there, we... More

I am very pleased you and your husband had a great cooking-touring day with us. It is also nice that you could stay 2 nights in our medieval village so you could take time to absorb the atmosphere and get to feel the slow living pace of the Roman countryside. I am glad the train directions sent to you helped... More

I took Sally and Guido's 5 day cooking course in Toffia with my husband in September. From the excellent pre-arrival information, to meeting us from the train, welcoming us to their home, breakfast at the New Age cafe, and comfortable accommodation in Toffia, every detail of the holiday was friendly, relaxed, and really enjoyable. We loved the cooking classes. Guido's... More

Thanks for your review. I am pleased you both had a great time with us on our 5 night cooking holiday. You are correct, our longer cooking holiday gives all our guests enough time to participate in all the cooking classes, afternoon excursions, and the other activities programmed, with many opportunities to just relax, absorb the atmosphere of being in... Despite the January rain, the warmth of Sally & Guido's home, cooking and pellet stove made this experience truly memorable. If you wish for an authentic Italian cooking class set in a beautiful medieval town, do not miss this opportunity with Convivio. You will leave educated, relaxed and above all inspired to try the dishes in your own kitchen.

I am glad the warmth of our home during the cooking lesson made the cooking day you had with Guido and I more memorable. I think there is nothing better than learning something new and inspiring in a comfortable, relaxed and friendly environment ....and then add this to being in a well equipped kitchen in a 500 year old home,... I booked the Convivio Rome Italian One Day cooking class as a surprise for my boyfriend's 40th birthday. We were based in Rome for the weekend and made a trip out to Toffia (just north of Rome) for the day to attend to course. From the first enquiry, to when we arrived, Sally was extremely helpful and responsive and sent... More

I am really glad you both enjoyed your day with us and felt like you were miles away from the business of Rome. As you discovered, we are really only a 40 minute train ride from Roma Tiburtina train station and yet, within minutes you are in the beautiful Sabine Hills, just north of Rome and surrounded by olive groves,... We experienced authentic cooking class which Guido taught us authentic 3 course roman dishes using locally produced quality ingredients. After the cooking class, Sally took us an old medieval village and we walked around the village. Sally explained many things around the village and it was very interesting. This whole cooking class experience was amazing that not avarage torists could... More

Thank you so much for your kind words and your positive review of your cooking lesson with us. I am so pleased you and your daughter enjoyed your one day cooking-touring experience. You are right in saying that we offer an authentic experience, one that many other 'tourists' don't get to do. Although Toffia, our medieval village, is set in... More

Murray and I attended the one day course, but would have loved to have spent more time -the day went far too quickly... Sally was a perfect hostess and stepping into her village, Toffia, was just like a different world. The cooking class was like a Masterclass with Guido patiently taking us through all the steps and sharing tips for... More

Thanks so much for recently attending one of our cooking classes here in Toffia. It sounds like you had as much fun as Guido and I did having the whole cooking group here....and that you may wish to return for one of our longer 3 or 5 night cooking holidays! My friend and I attended a one day cooking class hosted by Sally and Guido in early October. The cooking class is conducted in their charming home in Toffia, a beautiful town on a hillside just North of Rome. Sally gave us great directions on how to get there by train and she met us at the train station when... More

We joined Sally and Guido for a fabulous day of cooking in September. My husband who NEVER cooks loved it and swears he is going to make pasta for me when we move into our new kitchen. The menu and hands on approach was particularly good and we loved sharing the meal and wine in the Convivio Rome dining room... More

I loved the way your husband really got into the cooking lesson, rolling out the pasta and grinding the pesto with the mortar and pestle. If you had not have told me he had never cooked before, I would never have known. Maybe he has found a new passion in life? Let me know when he makes the hand made... More

My husband and I travelled to Toffia for a 3 day cooking course in May this year. We describe our stay in Toffia as a holiday within a holiday. It is great to hear from you both and that you enjoyed your extended stay with us in Toffia. I still remember the smiles on your faces as we saw you both 'getting into' and enjoying the local lifestyle. I did a 3 day cookery course with Guido and Sally at the end of September, staying in a very comfortable studio apartment overlooking the valley.
