This was an absolutely wonderful experience! We learned to make some handmade Ravioli, Saltimbocca, and a Ricotta cake. It was well taught so that I feel like I could try it at home and have success and the the class size was small enough so that you could all really get your "hands on", or in this case "hands in",... We loved every minute of our half day cooking class! Sally picked us up in the ancient square and walked us around the village (stopping at an herb garden and bay leaf tree to pick some of the freshest herbs I have ever used)! Sally and Guido welcomed us into their home, where we began our cooking lesson. Guido was... More

I am really glad you and your family enjoyed your Half Day cooking class with us. Your wonderful review captures what we offer as an easy day trip from Rome: We try to offer much more than just a cooking class, with the mini tour around our medieval hilltop village and a visit to the herb garden to set the... For a group of six foodie friends and family, this was the perfect adventure -- a respite from the bustle of Rome and a delightful half-day with a real Italian family. From the moment Guido collected us at the train station and began telling us of the history of this part of Lazio, we knew that we were in for... More

It really was great fun having you and your friends and family along for our Half Day cooking class. As you so warmly described, the cooking-touring programme is much much more than just a cooking lesson. Coming to our medieval hilltop town which is not only picturesque, but completely unknown by tourism, is just the beginning of the experience we... More

This cooking tour was recommended by a good friend who visits Italy nearly every year, and every year her friends do this cooking course. I decided to book this cooking course (my friends and I did a half day course where we made a main meal and dessert due to lack of time in the country) but we all came... More

Thanks so much for your glowing review. It would be wonderful to see you both again, and I am really pleased you followed your friends recommendation for us. This is always great to hear. Many cooking guests take our half day or one day cooking class and then return for another one of our longer 3 or 5 night cooking... More

Our group had one of the best days of our trip traveling to Toffia and cooking a delicious 3-course meal together, under the expert guidance of Guido and Sally. There was also time to enjoy the surrounding landscape, visit nearby historic sites, and catch our breath from the fast-paced days of sightseeing we were having in Rome. A really wonderful... More

I am really glad you enjoyed your day with us. We also had a lot of fun meeting you all and sharing with you the wonderful food, history and spectacular scenery that is so unknown to tourism, and yet so close to Rome. You are right, our little medieval town of Toffia, surrounded by rolling hills and olive groves is... More

My girlfriend (now fiancé) and I had a really good holiday in Italy, got engaged in Rome and then topped it off with a perfect three days in Toffia on Sally and Guido's Convivio Rome 3 day version of the cooking classes. They looked after us from before we even got to Italy with helpful guidance about getting there. The... More

I was so excited to hear that you both got engaged to be married in Rome, just before coming along for our 3 night cooking holiday. I felt part of your new adventure together. It was a joy having you join us and you have aptly described our longer cooking holidays as a vacation that offers a real break with... More

The cooking course in Toffia was the highlight of my Italian vacation. Sally and Guido were so friendly and helpful throughout the entire weekend. We made delicious food and I learned a lot of useful cooking tips including how not to chop my fingers off while slicing like a chef. Toffia is such a beautiful and friendly village and it... More

I am really pleased that you enjoyed the authentic Italian experience of having your welcome dinner in the main village square during one of our Summer festivals, and to visit some of the local artist studios during the monthly Arte e Arti fair. To visit the international artists and discuss their work, plus to see where the local artist studios... More

Highly recommended! Guido and Sally were extremely friendly and welcoming hosts. The one-day program was well thought-out and organized, divided between a cooking class, lunch, and a fascinating and informative tour of two historic towns. The cooking lesson was just what I had been looking for. Guido clearly knows his stuff--he explained techniques clearly and gave everyone plenty of hands-on... More
