We stopped here on our way from San Jose to Manuel Antonio. A very nice 2 hour boat ride. We saw lots of different birds and too many crocodiles to count. Our bilingual guide gave out charts with the different birds on them so we could follow along. They don't feed the crocs anymore, at least that's what we were... More

We recently had a short trip here during our exodus cycling holiday and it was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip. The guide was excellent and as well as numerous crocs we saw an abundance of birds lizards crabs etc. We would thoroughly recommend coming here. Zelia Belfield

I suspect every boat has a "Crazy Joe" on it, but our "Crazy Joe" was a nutcase. These crocs aren't the type that Aussie bloke Steve Erwin played with. They'd been kept so cold they could hardly move. These are wild crocs in a natural river, and they are fast. The only thing keeping Crazy Joe from being eaten was... More

Took this trip through the Celebrity cruise off-shore excursions - not really knowing what we were going to see. It took about 45 minutes to get to the site from the ship which allowed us to see some very beautiful countryside along the way. When we got to the Jungle Crocodile Safari site we were assigned a boat and off... More

We visited as part of a shore excursion when we were on a cruise, and I'm glad we did. The visit to the Jungle Crocodile Safari was thrilling. We hoped to see crocodiles and we certainly saw plenty, with the help of our boat guide - plus we also saw plenty of birds and lizards etc. The boat guides know... More

This tour did not disappoint. Not only did we see plenty of crocs but lots and lots of birds. The guides were so cool. They made sure we saw everything that the river had to offer. My friends and I enjoyed every minute. Thanks.

Yes, the crocodiles were cool to see. Huge, prehistoric looking, ominous characters, no doubt. But for this non-birder, the birds were even more fascinating. We saw over 30 varieties in less than two hours, and almost all possessed spectacular coloration or patterning. Our boat pilot took his time and gave all in our group a good look at whatever we... Our desk clerk at our little hotel suggested this group for our tour. He told us it was the best. It was 10:30 when we decided to take the 3:30 tour on the same day. We were picked up on time, received a cool drink when we arrived, and treated to a delightful tour. Not only did we see crocodiles,... More

There are several places offering this type of tour along the Tarcoles River - from what we could see this was the best one when it comes to comfort and services for it's customers. Our 2 hour crocodile tour ended up being almost 2 1/2 hours and included some awesome bird watching and lizard sightings. We got some great photographs.... More
