Loved the galleries, jewelry and high-end crafts shops near the plaza...even an ATM in the government bldg with no extra fees(?!) Call me weird, but I preferred the restaurants with the quieter, cool and ambient music--better for digesting, frankly.

Great walk through San Jose, Christmas decorations are lovely, not harassed on the street! Close to their beautiful church. Lots of shops and restaurants.

Locals preparing for the special season with decorations, lights, and performers. Local shops surround the square and offer some excellent crafted items, as well as some typical mass-produced souvenirs.

The art district and the main square are a must go. There's good food and great art. But the area was hit pretty hard by Odile a few months ago. It's still recovering. There are tequila shops, but the tequila prices are about double in Puerto Vallarta. You can better prices in the Duty Free Shop in the airport. There... More

Full-size nativity scene, HUGE Christmas tree, a 6-foot tall sand castle, and a variety of shops (all decorated for the season) made this town square a fun place to stop. Wide variety of shops (food, tourist junk, jewelry, etc) meant there was something to entice everyone to stop and shop.

The town has been beautifully cleaned and restored after the hurricane - they just need more visitors to share their wonderful area with!

What a bundle of activity there is in this square. Besides being opposite a beautiful church, there always seems to be something going on there at night. Some nights is just families hanging out. When we were just there, it was getting ready for Christmas! Christmas trees, full size nativity scene and entertainment on the stage. Plus an art festival.... More

The visitors feel as though we are in a real Mexican beach town and the pride and care shows to preserve what is good- not part of the ugly Americanized Los Cabos. I hope it stays that way.

The main plaza or zocalo of San Jose del Cabo is utterly charming and very Mexican in flavor. Lots of cool shops and cafes around. The elaborate bandstand is a trip!
