We enjoyed our visits, a few times over our two week vacation. Very colonial with great history.... One evening after dinner we walked to the square and a stage was set up with dancers. From little girls doing Hawaiian Dances, to beautiful couples performing Colombian dances...also some traditional Mexican dancers. Very enjoyable. the artwalk is held there, as well....which was... A great way to get to know the great town. Start here and head towards the art district for a great art walk.

The main square in San Jose is alive with local families at night. It is a wonderful place to spend an evening after dinner at one of the wonderful local restaurants.

The main square in San Jose depicts the history with statues of past presidents. There is also a very large flag that sits in the square. There are colorful flowers in planters and a waterfall. There is a beautiful gazebo which is great for pictures. Take time to walk through the square as well as the streets along the main... More

There are often evening activities around the square including a few food carts. A number of visitors from other parts of Cabo found downtown San Jose "refreshing." Nice blend of both Mexican and American tourists, totally unlike Cabo San Lucas. We always take in the Art Walk on Thursdays.

The town square was great too visit. It really is quaint reminds me of old time small town America. Try the View restaurant, the Italian in the back of the square and make sure to try the Mexican restaurant by the fire hall.

We enjoyed strolling around the square in the early evening viewing the artisans work. There is everything from jams and jellies to huge paintings. The down side was being approached by shop owners to enter their shops when walking down the streets some did not want to take no for an answer!

Square is alive with local artists and craftsmen. Lots of local food vendors and the food at Molly's was amazing. People are very welcoming and not pushy to buy. Whole family spent the evening there.

After walking through the crass commercialism and chaos of Cabo San Lucas, I found this square to be a joy. Locals wandered around the square and the small shops offered unique arts and crafts. I particularly enjoyed visiting the church on the square. Worth a half day trip.
