The islands are 24 hours by liveaboard boat off the coast from Cabo. They are well worth it for experienced divers. It is not a coral destination although there is some coral, There is no land component. It is affordable compared to some liveaboard destinations. The giant mantas are the mainstay,; encounters with other large animals like sharks and whales... More

Awesome fishing trip, over 250 Tuna, 110 Wahoo and close to #400lb cows. Sharks are thick here. Long boat ride, take a book.

When my husband and I got on the boat for our 10 trip aboard the Nautilus Explorer we were a little surprised at the guest to staff ratio of 25 to 9. We were worried that the dive deck and camera table would be cramped. All of those worries were quickly forgotten. Captain Shawn and his crew worked like a... More

I knew the Revillagigedo Islands, or Socorro Islands, were renown for "big animal" sightings, but I crossed it off my list long ago since this archipelago is only accessible by boat. Seasickness is my nemesis...and I was not interested in a 26-hour boat ride, each way. That all changed for me this year, as my husband and I decided to... More

This was my first live aboard experience and it was a mixed experience. It didn't start well. Joining instructions were garbled and eventually we all found the boat/ship at the main pier ......but the crew kept us waiting for 90 minutes in the boiling heat whilst they decided weather or not to run the trip.....something to do with the Mexican... And I did a lot. We were aboard the SEA Escape, and we stopped at Rocka Partida (best place for sharks), San Benedicto (I will always remember 'El Boiler' dive site, the giant Mantha Ray ballroom) and Socorro for the whales. The boat is just ok in term of comfort but the team aboard the Sea Escape is simply fantastic... More

This was our fifth trip to Socorro (fourth with Nautilus Explorer). The boat is still comfortable, with upgrades to some of the cabins, and there were a few staff changes, but overall pretty much the same. It’s the diving that changes, and this trip proved to be one of the better trips, with mantas, dolphins, hammerheads, silky shark night snorkeling,... More

January 29, 2015 will have a very special place in my dive log. This is my 8th trip to the Revillagigedos Islands aboard the Nautilus Explorer. Today, we dived Roca Partida for our first dive this morning. As I back-rolled off the skiff, I managed to pull the cover off my wide angle port and turn my camera on to... More

You have the choice of 5-6 different live-aboard ships for your 8-10 day scuba trip to Socorro. I have only taken one, but it was absolutely excellent. The Valentina (from Fun Azul group) has a wonderful crew and great food, and the diving was superb. Not sure that it could be done better than this company did it. Definitely consider... More
