There are a lot of horseback riding excursions available from SMA, but I have no doubt that Rancho Xotolar is the very best. Tomás and his family were so accommodating (and on short notice--we did not book the morning trip until the afternoon before) and truly understand the area. There is something special about learning about the ranch land, but... More

We had the most marvelous horseback riding tour with Tomas and his family. There were six in our party and we were led by three experienced guides. The horses were sure footed on sometimes rocky trails and the Western saddles make for a secure ride. While the riding was thrilling, we we're enthralled by the incredible landscape and vistas. It... My friends and I had the opportunity to visit Rancho el Xotolar while visiting central Mexico. It was an amazing day! In the morning before the ride, they let us in with the cows to show us some of the working part of the ranch, let us milk a cow and feed a calf! I am not an experienced rider... More

It was an amazing experience for me and my wife. We simply loved all of it! The horses, the view, the attention and the ride activities were awesome! We love nature and to get this close to it made us feel like wanting to do it again and again in the near future. Please take the tour, you wont regret!

While I'm not an experienced rider, Tomas and his family and team at Rancho Xotolar made for a amazing memorable experience. Some friends and I visited the ranch on a day off, and experienced an unforgetable day. The riding trails were fantastic and the views and scenery were breathtakingly beautiful. We rode on trails through canyons and cantered through the... More

Being able to ride through in that place is awesome, is a real fun adventure! You can sprint in many different places, like a river, seriously riding a horse ruining, splashing water with the cool breeze and the sun in your back is a lifetime experience. If you want to take it easy and just ride slow you can do... More

I haven't been riding in San Miguel since I was a little girl and I'm not sure I ever visited the canyons. Felix picked us up from the home we were staying in the city. It was an easy drive out to the ranch. The kids (11, 9 and 8) got to milk a cow and then bottle feed a... More

Tomas and his team at Rancho Xotolar offer an authentic riding experience through amazing terrain and scenery. The horses were matched well to our group and were extremely perceptive and worked well together on the trail. Plus a small cattle dog named Lobo ran the entire way with us & epitomized a true working dog who loves what he does.... More

From the moment they pick you up at your residence to the moment they bring you back home you know that you are in for a special treat. We felt like we were familial guest and not just paying customers. We did pay about $95USD for what amounts to a 3.5 hr horseback ride, cow milking and an incredible, BIG... More
