What a great experience! Enables you to see the beautiful countryside and meet a great family. I am a 23 year old girl with barely any riding experience and went alone - felt 100% safe and comfortable the entire time. They taught me how to ride and even gallop through the river in the canyon! The ranch was beautiful, Tomas... More

Tomas and his family were wonderful hosts at their working ranch near SMA. He picked us up in San Miguel and offered lots of information about the area during the drive. I am not a horsewoman but with his instruction and the patient, sure-footed horses I was fine. Very tasty meal and cervezas after the ride. Highly recommend!

This is by far the best experience we have had in SMA. The ranch owner, Felix was one of our guides and his sister made lunch for us....as we arrived she had just milked the cows to make Queso for our lunch...we saw the warm mild, strained and the corn cooking to be ground and made into tortillas...enchiladas, beans, salsa... I am an experienced rider from Massachusetts USA and loved this ranch. went on a wonderful ride with Tomas and several others through all kinds of terrains. Fields, rock, streams, with spectacular views of the countryside. Very professional, safe and perfect for all riders, beginners and experienced. Don't miss an opportunity to experience this adventure.

My wife and I, both beginners, were very impressed with the amount of care Tomas and his handlers provided to ensure that we were safe throughout the 2.5 hour ride. The scenery was spectacular and Tomas was able to take many photographs along the way, using my cell phone camera. Talk about multi-tasking! The post-ride lunch was exceptional with all... More

Another fine day at Rancho Xotolar. It was great fun riding today with Reyes and Roberto. Felix and Tomas joined us for lunch, and once again we fell under the sway of the Morin family hospitality. An authentic Mexican New Year's celebration. What a great way to welcome in 2015.

Our family with two 14 year old boys and an 11 year old daughter had an amazing day. Tomas picked us up promptly at our house to drive us to the property. The scenery was breath taking. We walked, trotted and galloped our horses along cliffs, plains and river beds. After the 2.5 hour horse trip, cold beer and a... More

Coming from the US, this was such a breathe of fresh air. Truly a cultural experience, to see the contrasting way of life in such a fun and interactive way. We spent a good 3 hours in saddle. This was my husband's first time on a horse, and he was able to gallop at several different points. Of course, a... More

One word: awesome. My wife and I were picked up from our hotel by Leo. Leo is an incredibly polite, chatty and helpful guide. He helped us throughout the trip and was the only one whom spoke english. Bring a camera and he'll happily take pictures for you. The horse ride itself and the tour through the canyon was amazing.... More
