After reading many of the reviews, I would agree with what others have said. Sazon provided a great learning opportunity. Both the instructor Ruben and his assistant were excellent. Visiting the market was very interesting and our lunch was delicious. If I had a chance to do it again, I would do three things differently. One - sign up early,... More

My Husband and I did this cooking class yesterday. I would give it 5 stars, but for those people who are looking for a hands on experience this may not be the class for you. There were a total of 12 people in the class, and it was fun, especially the trip to the market where Chef Rubin had us... More

Our instructor, Ruben, started the class by taking us to the local market. There we tasted produce and prepared food by the vendors. We also bought vegetables for our meal. After returning, we prepared several dishes. Ruben did the heavy work and demonstrated how to use the various produce that we had never cooked before. Afterwards, we ate. Very delicious.... More

We booked the market tour and cooking class at Sazon. Ruben with our host and chef. We had so much fun touring the market and trying items that I never would have otherwise tried. We picked up the things we needed for the dishes we were making that day and took them back to the cooking school. Ruben led us... More

Visiting friends in Mexico City, my friends recommend San Miguel de Allende. You can fly closer airport near by but since I was in Mexico City I took car down here. Small but interesting street takes you to 18Century Spanish style village, colorful wall and street sign it's just like walking through art gallery. This morning I found out there's... More

We signed up for a cooking session with our friends. Joined by two ladies from Portland, we prepared one of the best meals we had in two weeks. We made the guacamole and the salsa. We pulled the chicken and learned about roasting peppers, onions, tomatilios and tomatoes. Dicing, chopping, smashing, sampling were all part of this wonderful experience. Then,... More

Taking a trip to the market for this first time was really helpful in understanding the lay out. of the market itself. Learning about the unique local fruits and vegetables. The kitchen was so pretty and nice and clean to cook in. Rueben was an excellent chef/host. He was very informative in explaining the ingredients and cooking process. There was... More
