This class was very fun and informative. Enjoyed the tour of the market, meeting the vendors and learning to cook with the varied ingredients.

My wife and I with two friends recently participated in a very enjoyable cooking class at Sazon in San Miguel de Allende. The "instructor" was chef Alejandro Rodriguez from the Aldonza Restaurant (Belmond) and he made the class a very memorable and fun experience. First, we all walked together to the huge covered mercado to taste, select, and buy the... More

Three of us really enjoyed the class presented by Tono and highly recommend it. Our chef prepared a very tasty mole with rice and we were able to get some hands-on participation. We were very fortunate that we had the class to ourselves because of low season. I would definitely recommend this and take another class if I return to... More

I went to one class here and it was called Regional Mexican. To me, that meant regional dishes (like some kind of fish dish from Veracruz or chiles rellenos from San Miguel). Well, we cooked a terrible nopal salad. They cooked the nopal wrong so there was tons of slime in it. Then they made a "sushi" wrap. I don't... More

This was my second trip to San Miguel in 6 months, and I was determined to do things I wouldn't ordinarily do on a trip like this, like a cooking class for example. For anyone looking to stay in SMA for more than just a few days, this is definitely something you should consider. I went with the Market Tour... More

Jose Luis's cooking class was by far the highlight of my trip to San Miguel. Jose Luis has a warm, friendly personality. He is a top notch chef and a wonderful instructor. First, he took us to the market, where we shopped for ingredients. From time to time we stopped to sample delicious foods and drinks. Jose Luis is extremely... More

This was a solid cooking class, and fun. But pretty basic. I was given the task of chopping onions, tomatoes and potatoes. No problem, except for the very dull knife. It was really hard not to just smush the tomatoes. But we made a recipe I have made many times before so it would be nice to know and have... More

They class was great. We ate and drank for 3 hrs. Glad we did it while in San Miguel. I would definitely try other classes that they offer.

We participated in Chef Emanuel's Regional Mexican Cuisine class and had a great time. The class was very active and fun, the food was delicious, and everyone could get involved as much or as little as they wanted. We prepared an amazing Sopa Azteca (best I've ever had), chiles rellenos, enchiladas with salsa verde, fresh corn tortillas, and chocolate tequila... More

We were able to arrange this class before leaving for San Miguel de Allende. They worked with us to devise a menu that took into account our dietary preferences. The trip to the market with Chef Emanuel was in and of itself worth the time. It was a real eye opener and a lot of fun. He is a born... More
