This is a great place to book daytrips. You are in a small comfortable van with an English speaking guide. WE went to Queretero and Guanajuato. Both were worth every cent. WE also took their Sunday house tour and saw three homes of which one was beautiful and the last was a palace. The Biblioteca also had a Cantina Crawl... More

Great plays, movies, conversation! If you just get to San Miguel and want to find out what is going on - try breakfast here, by an Antencion (local english newspaper) relax and enjoy.

I was in San Miguel to learn Spanish and so most days I'd find a quiet corner at this beautiful library to study. The ex-pat community supports this facility and it's heart-warming to see all the programs for youngsters going on. The cafe and small theatre are terrific. Nice gift shop. The Sunday house tour left me a bit cold,... More

Gringos hang out here at the coffee shop (best bacon sandwiches in town), to attend lectures and theater - great place to meet other gringos and to find out what is happening around the town.

This was the largest library I've seen in Mexico. Thousands of books in both English and Spanish with a decent little poetry room too. There is a cafe along with lecture and small concert hall, which I'd love to attend in the future.

Go to the Biblioteca any day any time and there are people reading, eating, studying, attending plays, concerts, lecture, classes. It is the center of intellectual and cultural life in San Miguel. It houses the largest bilingual collection of books in Mexico.

Was a beautiful setting for a library with rooms around a large central courtyard with fountain. How terrific to see so many people reading and enjoying leisure time in a library on a Saturday afternoon.

The house and garden tour was fantastic. We toured two gorgeous homes and learned a bit about SMA from the very friendly tour guide. Prior to the tour, there's great live music in the courtyard. The tour is run by volunteers who were all very friendly, and the proceeds from the tour go toward funding children's programs, so it's a... More

Perfect place for people watching, reading or free wifi. The Santa Ana cafe has great coffee and some interesting food items on their menu. Outdoor feeling but plenty of places in case it rains.

This library serves as a center for all things cultural in SMA. The evening language exchange is a fun way to meet locals and practice your Spanish and for them to practice their English. The Sunday morning house tour is an interesting way to get behind the walls of some fabulous houses. The cafe is ok, but the service is... More
