It isn't the building at its contents so much, although they are fine or the restaurant, which is pleasant enough. It is the tours and concerts and lectures and other event that makes this a place that everyone must visit.

A good place to visit early in your trip to learn of lectures and cultural opportunities scheduled during your visit. There's also seating and a small coffee shop inside.

This should be your first stop in San Miguel de Allende. It's so much more than a library. You can find out everything that is going on in town. Plus there's a great cafe.

This is a real central hub for all X-patriots living here in SMA. Many shows are given here, loads of lectures, and they publish the paper giving all events happening in town. Love hanging out here!

Not really a public library with its membership fee for foreigners of about MX$100. In the patio you'll see English-Spanish interchange happening, one of the Bib's many community projects. You'll find most of the top rated books of the past year if they're not checked our. Be sure to visit the red room filled with fiction and nonfiction books in... More

Did you know that SMA's library is the largest foreign language library in Mexico outside Mexico City? It is. Plus it has lots of free classes and discussion groups, plus dancing and foreign language groups. It has plays and shows movies. It is very much a part of the hub of the "gringo" experience in San Miguel. If you didn't... More

There are tourist ideas here plus a lovely courtyard for a cup of coffee or tea. Pirated movies are available for rent. This is Mexico.

Great library funded by American ex-pats who live in the area. Funds go to the local kids who are well cared for and educated. What we enjoy most are the Sunday tours run by the folks here to special homes in the area. Before the tour every Sunday there is a gathering in the courtyard where a local musical group... More

The House and Garden tour is a fund raiser for the Bibliotecha and is run each Sunday - it begins with a musical concert in the courtyard and then the participants board a bus to see three properties. On the trip we took one was out the the city and had some interesting gardens. The other two were bed and... More

Excellent food and service at this charming and central location. Great for brunch on a Sunday before the Home and Garden tour.
