I think La Gruta is the best of all the hot water springs in the area, but I still feel like I'm swimming through human germs to get into the cave where the water fall is located, there are things floating in the water trail to get there, but those things could be natural minerals rather than other gross stuff... The Gruta in Antontolnico is an older spa like retreat a short drive from San Miguel de Allende. Hot springs rising the the grotto are captured in a series of soaking pools. There are separate pools for todldlers and teens, spacious flower-filled gardens, restaurants and bars. Full spa services are available as are food and beverages pool-side. A great way... More

We visited on a very quiet mid-week day. The pools were inviting the 'gruta' grotto warm and relaxing. Very different from the town visits.

During the week thi is a valuable place to check out. But, don't expect "hot". The pools are warm. The best thing for me was meeting so many others people looking to relax. The Mexican people I met here wanted to try to communicate as long as I was willing, which I was and had so much fun, talking, making... More

We had a fine visit after our bike ride with bici burro... the facility is very clean... the waters hot... and the design of the pools interesting and engaging. We also had a reasonably priced and tasty lunch of fajitas

A really nice place to go and relax in hot springs. The food is excellent and moderately priced, too.

We drove past the entrance 4 times as the sign is partially hidden by the edge of the highway. Persistence paid off and the waters were incredible. The beautiful turquoise from the copper kept us in the hot springs for a couple of hours and the sense of healing was enhanced by how smooth our skin was afterwards. The long... More

This was my first experience at a public bath and it was definitely everything I ever imagined it would be (visualize the Roman period, eating, drinking and bathing together). There was pool-side service and the pounding stream of hot water was simply amazing- just what I needed after a day of horseback riding! I highly recommend La Gruta to anyone... More
