My partner an I (27 and 28) went to la gruta after spending the mandatory few days within San Miguel being awestruck by the streets, food, amazing people and churches. We went on an overcast day which turned out to be the perfect temperature to visit la gruta. Getting to/from: We took the cab option leaving San Miguel at 1pm.... More

Came here on a Monday after getting the Dolores Hidalgo bus from San Miguel and being dropped off at Cortijo. Then just a 5 min walk away. Was annoyed that we weren't allowed to take our drinks in (Gatorade to help relieve the hangover). Anyway, lockers were too small for our backpack so we had to take this to the... More

It is a beautiful, magic place. The grounds are heavily planted and landscaped. There are a few pools of varying temperatures. But, the piece de resistance is the large geodesic dome where the hot spring comes out of a pipe (approx. 6 inch diameter) from about 10 feet high with strong flow. People line up to stand under the pipe... More

I've been to La Gruta several times over the years and it has definitely improved. Lots of table and chairs with umbrellas, great food, drink and service for a very fair price. Oh and the pools are still wonderful, with the cave being the best part, of course.

La Gruta features 2 for 1 on Fridays - a very nice, clean and relaxing trip only minutes outside San Miguel by taxi. Also serves great food and drinks - their Michelada is wonderful. The grounds are quite lovely and nicely planted - haven;t tried their spa service but that is definitely on my to do list.

Went there on Wednesday morning in March attracted by reviews on TA. Very disappointing, I don't understand how it has such a good ratings. Couple of small sized pools with warm water full of people. All places to sit outside occupied. We didn't even go into the water, just went back to car and moved on to see more interesting... More

I love visiting La Gruta when I'm in San Miguel and this time spent a good part of the day. It's a lovely place to just relax and enjoy the hot springs and the cool, green lawns. The cafe serves excellent guacamole and drinks and the masseuse is wonderful. This was the first time getting a massage at the hot... More

Visited on a cold morning, the water was comfy in the coolest pool and perfect hot soak in the grotto. At 1 pm they open a jet of water in the cave, consider it a free massage. Quick poolside food and beverage service starts at about 11 am. Lockers and showers were very clean, and free wifi, very fast

We went on a Tuesday morning at 7:30 am. Not all the pools were full yet, but it was quiet and an absolute delight. We sat and ate a filling breakfast of eggs, beans & toast.fresh juice, and fresh coffee on a balcony with a sweet cat. Take a taxi. And there will be taxis waiting when you are ready to... More

This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and relax. The pools are warm, not extremely hot but very relaxing. Changing room and bathrooms were very clean and the drinks looked enticing but a rain storm came in.
