They never stop improving this place, get there early for the "gush" the hot water that springs from a pipe in the "gruta" cave. People line up to have the water beat their shoulders - truly an amazing experience. The grounds are filled with trees and greenery. There are shallow pools for kids and plenty of area to play. Excelent for relax and have a Mexican breakfast ! Very simple in the nature, hot spring water great for relax. Is better to visit very early in the morning, is open at 7:00 at this time you will find few people and you can take de chorro. After that breakfast.

This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The springs are varied with the cave being the main attraction. There are food and adult beverages available for purchase (Margaritas!) as well as lounge chairs scattered about the grassy areas. Be careful to choose a day when the children are in school as it tends to get a bit crowded!

La Gruta was a pleasant surprise. It was quiet lovely and fun. Very clean and soothing. My legs hurt from walking so much in San Miguel so I hopped into the hottest pool and stretched my legs for a good 20 minutes. They didn't hurt the rest of the trip. Going into the dome was cool. We didn't wait in... More

We spent much of our day at La Gruta relaxing after a very busy week of walking and sightseeing. The warm pools felt great. Everyone in our group ages 8-67 had a nice day. I would definitely go again. The grounds are well kept. The margaritas were yummy too.

A few questionable pools. Broken chairs. Sad and worn down. Just weird. Escondido is better, but not by much. Awaiting a positive hot springs experience in San Miguel. Where are you?

My 11 yr old daughter recently spent a very relaxing Thursday afternoon at La Gruta. We were here last year and I'll make a point to always stop here on any future visits to San Miguel. It's a wonderful way to unwind after so much walking and sightseeing. A couple of things I will add to the other reviews about... More

La Gruta has three pools in which to swim and lovely grounds on which to relax with friends or just read a book in either the sun or shade. The "thermal" water was not hot enough for me as I love a really hot mineral water soak, but the place was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. It is just outside... More
