There are posadas every day and night up to Christmas and a nativity in the Jardin, with live animals! People are in the plaza all the time, you can just sit and watch or get your shoes polished, or wander into the church which is full of art and chandeliers. Well kept jardin and well policed, so you have no... More

El Jardin is the center of San Miguel and is a fascinating place to hang out. Bustling with activity, there is always something to see. Whether it is a parade, a concert in front of the church, mariachis in the evening, or just an opportunity to people-watch, there is never a dull moment. It is one of my favorite places... More

This is the center of town. Given a few hours of sitting in this Jardin, you will see everyone living here pass through at some point. It has the most amazing magnetism...people just come here because it is here.

It is a beautiful place where locals and foreigners visit. On the weekend they had outside entertainment, mariachi, comedy, music.

San Miguel had changed since our last visit a few years ago. Oh, the old doorways, narrow sidewalks, winding streets, cobblestones, and church towers are still there. But, the number of taxis, buses, shops, street vendors and restaurants seems to have increased. The town was buzzing with activity this time; it was no longer just the sleepy, colonial village we... Lovely setting for the vegetation of Mexico with lots of space to explore. Visiting requires a taxi from downtown San Miguel.

As in most Mexican towns the plaza/jardin is a gathering place where people stroll, shop, sit, chat, do their banking, have a meal or a cold drink or an ice cream. It is lovely and shady and filled with people, especially on the weekends. Most major festivities start or end here. Parades and dances draw huge crowds and there are... More

This garden square is in the center of town and it is where all the ex-pats meet to while away the hours. Good conversation. Bathroom near the Starbucks. Ice cream shop on the corner.

The pruned trees are worth the visit. Get your shoes shined see the local youngsters make eyes at each other, buy a straw hat or a blow up toy and then have a beer or a cup of coffee. Lots of folks relaxing and reading the paper or dozing in the shade with their dogs. Frozen in 1929 time by... More
