Stunningly beautiful

I've been to the Parroquia many times and always love it. The only reason I'm not rating it 5 stars is because it was closed both times we tried to look inside.

Aesthetically amazing .... a really nice site to admire from the shade of the trees in El Jardín! We had a wonderful time discovering its details watching from the shade of the plaza!

This appears to be a cathedral, but it's not. It's actually a parish church, but the ornate and intricate architecture is more grand than most we saw in Europe. At night, it is a spectacle not to be missed. Go on a historical walking tour and you'll see the inside along with some insights (they're offered 3x a week, very... More

A lovely church with a large cathedral-like entry in the center of downtown San Miguel. The bells you will hear ringing all day long are from the towers of this church. Visitors are welcome. If you take a city walking tour your guide will take you through the church and explain its history.

Our family (two adults and two teens) attended Easter mass at the cathedral. The church is spectacular, and the service was beautiful and uplifting (the priest speaks very quickly but our Spanish training kicked in when he slowed down to sweetly address the children of the congregation). This is a must see anytime of the year in SMA - the... More

There is nothing to dislike about the Parroquia. This a a pretty pink cathedral in the centre of town on the Jardin (the central sqaure of San Miguel de Allende). It is the scene or view from which everywhere else in San Miguel is measured. It can be seen from great distances. The whole area around it is the central... More

Arriving to San Miguel De Allende by motorcycle this was a landmark seen miles away. It's worth to walk around inside, you feel the years of history. Absolutely breathing at night.

This emblem of SMA is a must-see! We were last inside during Semana Santa and all was in readiness. There were fresh flowers and lavish decorations.

Like in all smallish size colonial town/cities in people congregate in the center of town. The Paroquia is a magnificent mix of neo-gothic façade while the rest of the building is baroque in style. But that church and park as just the beginning of what San Miguel de Allende is. I consider it the best colonial town in Mexico, which... More

My favorite thing to do in San Miguel does not cost any money. Sit in the Jardin with an eye on the Parroquia and people watch. Sometimes there's a light show. Sometimes there's a wedding. Sometimes nothing out of the ordinary happens and yet it all seems extraordinary. A lovely church inside and out.
