This parish church is unique in Mexico and the iconic symbol of San Miguel Allende. Its Neo-gothic facade with two tall towers is one of the most photographed churches in Mexico and is an internationally recognized landmark. The church was completed in 1730, but the neo-gothic tower of the Parroquia was added in 1880. It is said that the master... More

The Parroquia and the adjacent Jardin are the focal point of SMA. We spent many hours almost every day sitting in the Park and watching the people go by. ON Fri. evenings the wedding parties would form there and parade through the streets. If you are there on a Fri. this is an ABSOLUTE MUST. The weddings are then held... More

The architecture is amazing and the history of its construction. I was a little freaked by the fact that the priests are buried underground.

This church represents the heart of San Miguel de Allende, its pink colour glows in the city center. The context of colours and shapes mixes beautifully. You can admire it from far and close, its open and you can visit the inside chapel. At night it is nicely illuminated. Plenty of weddings take place during the weekends and a lot... More

This pink (limestone?) cathedral is the centerpiece of the city, as are most cathedrals. It is a giant among churches. Visitors are welcome anytime the doors are open, including during services. There are many beautiful paintings and artwork throughout. If the bells ring while you are there, that is an added blessing!

Magnificent old church - the main attraction in town and a absolute must see - photos are allowed inside the church; don't forget to leave a small donation in the collection box.
