Good place to spend some time and eat lunch at the cafe inside. Many great galleries with lots of diversity.

Over 2 weeks we went to this place 3 times. It was near the house we stayed in, but was much larger than we anticipated, so it took us a few trips to see it all. There is some incredible art work and wonderful (though expensive) antique shops. The restaurants are very good. Our favorite was the Cafe, where we... More

Don't miss this place - it is packed with interesting studios and stores. Make time in SMA for this unique spot and spend some leisurely and completely enjoyable time exploring it.

Almost always open. Once a month there is a special art walk with wine and apps offered gratis.Sometime musical events are also held there. Was formerly a fabric making company, If there for the first time check out the photos of past owners and workers. Some of the machines used were preserved and you can see them. There are many... I won't repeat what others have said, but this is the best place to see quality art in SMA. My background is having owned and managed higher quality art galleries in the U.S. I looked at several of the galleries in downtown SMA, but with a few exceptions what you will find is "decorative art". Nothing wrong with that if... More

Repurposed textile factory with extensive number of galleries and shops specializing in art, home decoration and design for every taste and budget. A lot of the old factory equipment was saved and forms interesting exhibits scattered throughout the building. Be sure to look at the panels telling the story of this textile factory in words and photos. Three good restaurants... More

An easy cab ride from Centro, Fabrica Aurora is a repurposed textile factory that once employed some 300 people and was San Miguel's largest factory and employer. Today, it includes studios and galleries for working artists and showrooms for designer clothing, furniture, jewelry and antiquities. It is a must-see for visitors to San Miguel. In addition to galleries and showrooms,... More

The art is really wonderful, with everything from modern to antique, but it is definitely priced for well-heeled tourists. The galleries that I frequent in Mexico City have better prices than La Aurora...but even if you don't want to buy, it is well worth your time.

A great place to see working artists or to actually take a workshop and be one of the artists. I took a workshop in mixed media and in four very full days created cohesive mixed media pieces. Each member of the class had their own very distinctive style and vision but all created wonderful pieces which we discussed as the... More
