A gigantic collection of artists studios in a converted factory. Visit on an open house evening if you can. Food and drinks available in several restaurants.

Hubby and I took a cab there one afternoon and walked around. Being late May, a lot of the galleries appeared to be closed for indefinite duration. Lots of variety:pottery, textiles, painting, clothing, jewelry, sculpture etc.modern art. I don't know if it was me or not, but it was extremely hot while we were visiting... I did feel a little... Great place to see huge variety of paintings, sculpture, furniture, some folk art. Not inexpensive. Makes it easy to see Mexican/local artisans' products.

The galleries are magnificent, even if your not in for shopping, being a lookie-loo is all that is needed. You can have a snack or a cold sangria (Like I did) and stroll the halls and shops....Clean bathrooms and great food.....Get a burger and a Beer..!

I had been to the Fabrica La Aurora in the past and really enjoyed it. It now has many more galleries and shows wonderful art. We went on a Tuesday and discovered that many galleries are closed that day and some are closed on Wednesdays also. The variety of work is excellent. One can see large paintings and different types... More

La Aurora is a must see in Mexico, just not San Miguel de Allende. The former textile mill houses countless world class artisans who's pieces are for sale. Amazing, simply amazing art from oils to fabric to woods to antique furniture, metals, bronzes, glass, it has it all. The artisans are busy creating their next piece and are more than... More

This is also a must see if you like fine art, fabrics, jewelry and much more. You need several hours to visit in order to see everything.

My visit to Fabrica was too short and, since I was there on a Monday, about a third of the galleries were closed. I still enjoyed a 5 star visit and will eagerly return. Fabrica is a rambling fabric mill converted into a number of galleries and stores. Each store/gallery offers something a different and the focus is on modern... More

Glass blowing up close. Vary good tour. Us safety rules would kill this plant and tour. Be careful, especially with kids.
