The galleries and stores in the Fabrica Aurora used to be striving to be first class. I think they have fully arrived. The fine arts and decorative arts are thriving in San Miguel concurrent and complimentary to the city's status as a national and world treasure and valued destination. We most love the monthly art walks/open house …not to be... More

Wander through this handsome old textile mill complete with preserved industrial features, multiple artists' studios (artists are there Thursdays), art galleries, fascinating decorative stores, cafe and restaurant. Don't miss the monthly Art Walks or the anniversary party in February...a visual treat in every way including great people watching and music.

A big old fabric warehouse turned artists studios. This was a great surprise. An eclectric array of art and artists, two cafe's and the best wifi in SM. They also do monthly tours at night with cheese and wine, very popular. Most of the art is not cheap, but for those wanting to take home a classy piece, this place... More

The primary exhibition site for local artists to display their works. Amazing art talent in this town and it is known for that. Dont miss it.

If you're after original artwork of any kind, then you can spend a few hours there, the selection is amazing even if there is too much paintings for my liking. If you are after a purchase, unless you don't mind being fooled, then it's not for you! The two restaurants looked very nice although we didn't try.

The Fabrica La Aurora is a collection of art and arty furniture shops. The first Friday of the month is busy and fun with almost all the shops and galleries open. Bring a big checkbook, as the art is pricey, but good. It is open every day, but often many of the shops are closed on other days.

San Miguel is a feast for the eyes because of the colors and this trip we brought a designer friend. For those in the arts and design world, those who do fabric, fine arts and industrial grade composition, this is an interesting stop. We have a number of things from the studios here in our own home and they are... More

Adaptive reuse can be a controversial subject in México. The expats like it, but often the locals prefer to be more cutting edge. This former fabric mill and men's shirt factory (fabrica) is now a center for art galleries, antique shops, working art studios, a restaurant and coffee shop, a bookstore, and a variety of other attractive shopping venues. An... More
