Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and highest quality family adventure tours available in San Miguel de Allende. We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area.

Our group of three families with children ranging in age between 11 and 2 years went for a full day of horseback riding in the river valley, surrounding hillsides and cliffs and topped the day off with a visit to the local hot springs. All of us rode our own horses including the two year old. She was towed on... More

This tour is the perfect way to see the outdoors around San Miguel de Allende. Rodrigo and his team have a group of horses that are small and spunky, and can easily carry you into a canyon and back out again while hardly breaking a sweat. They'll even let willing riders gallop for stretches, which is a rare treat, especially... More

We had never been horseback riding before, but Rodrigo and his team of working cowboys and expertly trained horses, provided a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery as we descended into the canyon and nice ride through the river. After our three hour ride, we returned to the ranch for a great home cooked lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious! This was... More

We took a school group of 95 12 year olds to San Miguel de Allende and spent a day with Rodrigo and his team riding horses and doing the pyramid tour. As you can imagine with such a large group, we had a lot of logistics to deal with. We split our huge group in two with half riding horses... More

Marie was our guide for a 3.5 hour ride into the canyons outside San Miguel. We were able to gallop a few times (optional) and swim briefly in a cool stream. Hot day, so water was a must. Very nice, authentic Mexican lunch back at the ranch. Tame horses, good guides. Muy bien!

My wife and I did the Pyramid tour with ranch lunch and it was an excellent experience. Our tour guide Albert was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the pyramid in great detail. The ranch lunch afterwards was great and worth the extra money. Highly recommend.

The horses were well treated, pretty unflappable, but perky when it came time to gallop. The fellas at the ranch were friendly and fun. The French tour guide (Marie) was so great. I really liked the focus on the horses, the ranch, and the experience. (Personally I don't get much out of deep explanations and history.) Went with my two... More

A must do tour. This is a fact. Awesome ride through canyons, river, possibility to rappel in one of the canyons. The horses were very good too, responded well to commands. Not like usually dumb horses you will find in this kind of tours. However there is room for improvement in costumer handling, mainly in the preparation and conclusion of... More

The excursion was easily arranged via email. Our guide Alberto is a highly educated anthropologist-therefore incredibly knowledgable, personable and the best guide we have seen compared to the many other archeological guides we've experienced elsewhere in Mexico and Belize. The tour is not to be missed when visiting SMA; the area is beautiful and the setup at the archeological site... More

The ride to the canyon is spectacular. Incredible natural beauty. The horses are very well trained and safe to ride even if you don't have any experience. Everything is very well organized, nice lunch afterward at a typical Mexican ranch.
