We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area. « less

My 12 year-old daughter and I took the Coyote Canyon horseback ride down into the canyon. We've done a few different horseback trail rides, and this was the best yet for these reasons: 1. Healthy, well-cared for horses 2. Three friendly local cowboys to help us along, and one lead cowboy (American) to take pictures of us. 3. Beautiful scenery... More

My husband & I recently visited San Miguel de Allende and booked a half-day horseback riding trip with Coyote Canyon. I made arrangements for the ride via email before arriving in Mexico. Coyote Canyon was prompt in their response and confirmation. The half-day ride began with a 9am pick-up, followed by a drive to the ranch. Our group was given... More

My horseback ride through San Miguel de Allende’s historic district was a thrilling experience that I will never forget! On my 50th birthday, one of my best friends and I took an exhilarating sunset ride, and we had the time of our lives. Although I have lived in San Miguel fulltime for over 8 years, I’ve never experienced anything like... More

Their horses are very tamed and gentle. I am an experienced rider and had loads of fun on this trip. Beautiful scenery. The shortest trip is 3hrs., which was enough for me. One can also do more hours or even camp in the canyons for a night! For my friend who joined me it was her second time on a... More

I have been riding with Rodrigo Landeros of Coyote Canyon Adventures for over ten years now. His horseback riding adventure in the canyons just outside of the central city of San Miguel de Allende is the best horseback ride you will ever experience. It is a 4 hour adventure down rocky horse trails to the bottom of a canyon where... More

The high plateau is beautiful, covered by cactus and volcanic rock. Across the canyon we see steer and goats grazing. As we descend the steep trail, my horse reminds me that he's not called Coyote for nothing. At the canyon floor the horses stop to drink deeply in the river and I'm just enchanted by the magic of this place.... More

I truly enjoyed my adventure with Coyote Canyon. As much as I love San Miguel, and hanging out in the town, I highly recommend that any visitor should take the time to head out into nature for the day. It was an easy breezy pickup in town, and several hours riding on their private property, rounding out with a lovely,... More

We took the tour with Albert Coffee to the Canada de la Virgin Archeological site. Albert is just a fantastic guide. Smart and funny. After our amazing tour he took us to a working ranch for a delicious lunch prepared by the women of the ranch. A fabulous experience. Very highly recommend this tour.

What a great experience...I've only experienced horseback riding one other time and had concerns coming into this adventure but the staff at Coyote Canyon Adventures are the best! Marie and the crew were very helpful and didn't pressure you to do something you didn't feel comfortable with. I would recommend this adventure for anyone from beginner to experienced rider...the scenery... More

I went with my friends on horseback riding and camping. The food was extraordinary throughout the whole trip and the horseback riding was very exciting. All the tour guides were very attentive and responsible on their instructions and helped us a lot in having a very good camp night. A recommendation from someone who is afraid of horses AND heights:... More
