Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and highest quality family adventure tours available in San Miguel de Allende. We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area.

We joined a group of other tourists (who were like family by the end of the day!) to spend a few hours exploring the recently-excavated ruins outside of SMA. We arranged the trip through our B&B (Casa de la Cuesta) and the details of the day were a bit fuzzy to us beforehand, but everything worked out. Albert, our guide,... More

Coyote Canyon is absolutely exquisite! The multicolored rock outcrop with shear faces covered in bright orange lichen along with the diversity of plants and birds and the beautiful scenery from the river bottom to the grand vistas makes this a nature lovers paradise, Adding to it a safe and exciting horseback ride makes this a perfect adventure full of fun... Rodrigo made communcation, booking, so easy. He was reChable, informative & most of all patient with our big group of indecisive people. ATV was the BEST way to see, feel, smell & be a part of San Miguel. It takes you thru the city, the elite part, the "hood", the farmland, through water, near horses & pastures! Adventurous terrains, informative... More

Every time we go somewhere, I try to work in a horseback ride, so I've been on rides in many places. Coyote Canyon has the advantage of magnificent scenery, but it also uses it well. The outfit was very accommodating; the horses were very well-behaved; we had so many wranglers with us that even the novices felt safe all the... More

Amazing and awesome experience in the canyons! Trust your horse...they climbed up and down the rockiest terrain with confidence and sure footedness. Rodrigo was a very informative guide always conscientious of the rider. This adventure would suit the experienced and the novice rider. Would highly recommend this outing when visiting San Miguel de Allende! It was awesome!

Wonderful way of discovering the nature around San Miguel. Pick up in the city center. Very professional and supportive staff. Motivated riders can gallop a couple of times while the ones who preferred it quieter stay at pace. Excellent Mexican lunch after the 2.5 hours tour. Bring your camera (small!) or possibility to buy the pictures made by the guide.... More

Wonderful experience, great way to see the area and get out of the city for a day. Very professional and supportive staff. The most inexperienced rider will be safe and sound while the more adventurous and experienced rider can gallop a number of times. Great value!

Everything was wonderful. We were a family of four, kids eleven and nine. Our tour guide was Danielle, and she was great! The pick up was on time, everything was clearly explained, we felt very welcome and comfortable. Kids are pretty picky eaters, so thankfully they had cheese quesadillas and scrambled eggs in addition to lots of other delicious foods... More

We had such a fantastic day on the horseback riding adventure with the Cayote Canyon crew. We were picked up promptly in San Miguel and right from the start Marie was a great host. She and the other cowboys were attentive to ensure you were comfortable throughout the entire trip. They gave everyone the option of riding faster in some... More

Rodrigo took us on the most beautiful and fun horseback ride I've ever been on! Horses are well kept, fast, sure footed and the ride was from the top of the canyon to the streams below with at least 3 periods of fast galloping! Plenty of cowboys to guide and support and a yummy lunch made by the family that... More
