Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and highest quality family adventure tours available in San Miguel de Allende. We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area.

We spent the afternoon riding with Daniela, our delightful guide, and cowboys from the working ranch, through the spectacular setting of the largest canyon in Guanajuato. The ranch covers 800 acres of unspoiled beautiful land: there are multiple views that take your breath away. We were all relative beginners, and this is not (in the least) one of those usual... We spent a fabulous morning with Marie and the other cowboys from the ranch riding through the canyon which had the most breathtaking views to offer us. I had very little experience in riding and the guides did a great job in ensuring that the adventure was fun and exciting for everyone with a short tutorial on how to ride... More

Alberto was energetic, joyous, concise, accomodating and outstandingly knowledgeable of the region in way that speaks to the human heart. He can adapt to all levels of interest and intellect. This was a walking tour of San Miguel. Planning and improvisation melded to make this a unique time tailored to our needs. We highly suggest Coyote and Alberto for anything... More

What a fabulous day we had riding horses thru the canyon with Coyote Canyon Adventures. We had 5 of us in group and we all had such a great time. The weather was perfect as we heading off on the trails and down into the canyon. We had opportunities to gallop and that was lots of fun. I loved riding... More

I have been to many places around the world and I try to take in a ride where ever I go, but I have never experienced anything like their Night Ride in San Miguel. My guide Marie makes you feel very relaxed and the horses where calm and gentle. If you like to ride, but only ride in the country... More

I booked both a walking tour of San Miguel de Allende and the Pyramid tour with ranch lunch. First, Rodrigo, the founder of Coyote Canyon Adventures, was very flexible with me as this trip was a surprise for my husband. He reserved the events for me and held the card to keep it a surprise. He also communicated with me... More

My friends and I did the half day horseback riding option and we loved it! We are looking into doing the over-nighter, we loved it so much! They took great care of us...some of the people in my group had never ridden before and they were galloping on the ride. The views were breath-taking, horses very well-trained, and the homemade... Our group of three families with children ranging in age between 11 and 2 years went for a full day of horseback riding in the river valley, surrounding hillsides and cliffs and topped the day off with a visit to the local hot springs. All of us rode our own horses including the two year old. She was towed on... More

This tour is the perfect way to see the outdoors around San Miguel de Allende. Rodrigo and his team have a group of horses that are small and spunky, and can easily carry you into a canyon and back out again while hardly breaking a sweat. They'll even let willing riders gallop for stretches, which is a rare treat, especially... More

We had never been horseback riding before, but Rodrigo and his team of working cowboys and expertly trained horses, provided a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery as we descended into the canyon and nice ride through the river. After our three hour ride, we returned to the ranch for a great home cooked lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious! This was... More
