Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and highest quality family adventure tours available in San Miguel de Allende. We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area.

This was a great adventure. I got to ride horseback for the first time in my life and it was great. We spent the whole day horseback riding and we repelled as well. We then went to hot springs to end the day. Wonderful time with my girlfriend Stacy and we highly recommend this!

For us this was the best way to spend time in San Miguel. A break from the art and culture the area is known for. The Mexican countryside, the valleys, the rivers, the cliffs are all beautiful. Fantastic lunch in a working ranch setting with real cowboys - Felipe was knowledgeable and professional - and Diego the guide, who has... More

Our tour guide, Alberto, was knowledgeable responsive to questions engaging and seemed genuinely interested in giving us a great experience. We utilized him twice. First a walking tour is San Miguel which was terrific. We decided to ask him again to give us a tour of the pyramid. It was incredible. Beyond my expectations and this was made even more... More

Our family had an exceptionally rewarding trip with Alberto to the ancient Canada de la Virgen site. Alberto was able to communicate very well in english and we appreciated his vast and thoughful expert knowledge (University professor in Anthropology). His enthusiasm and endless knowledge made the trip fully rewarding. Highly recommend this trip. Fascinating history and connection to contemporary Mexican... More

This was an amazing experience! A full day led by archeological expert of the region, Alberto Aveleyra. Equally fun and personable was Diego, our driver. My grown son, his girlfriend and I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the many beautiful old chapels in the outskirts of San Miguel. It was a fantastic day!

Spent the day yesterday touring the pyramids at Canada De La Virge, with Alberto. He was a very knowledgable guide who shared his passion for the history of the area as well as the archaelogical findings that continue to uncover new and exciting information about the site. If you enjoy learning then this tour is perfect for you. We followed... More

My husband and I did a day hike with Coyote Canyon Adventures and loved it! We decided to book a tour very last minute and they were very accommodating and quick to respond via email. This tour quickly exceeded all our expectations. The terrain they take you to is secluded and beautiful. I believe the whole trail crossed over four... More

Although this was a first time for all of us, ages 10-72, we had a great experience. My husband swore we would not be zip lining in Mexico, but on the reassurance of friends we decided that try it. Our guides were David and Gustavo, and they were reassuring and knowledgable. They also put my 10 year old, who has... More
