Description: Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and...
Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and highest quality family adventure tours available in San Miguel de Allende. We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area.

We visited Canada de la Virgen with Alfred Coffee yesterday and could not have been more pleased. The pyramid complex was relatively recently discovered and Alfred worked on the site as an archaeologist. His insights, knowledge and enthusiasm taught us so much, in a charming and unassuming way – no classroom lectures just wonderful stories that captivated our attention. We... More

We spent the day yesterday with Rodrigo and his team at Coyote Canyon Ranch. We were with my father aged 76, three daughters aged 13, 11, 9 and my wife. None of us have any riding experience. We spent the whole day there. Half day on the farm milking the cows, petting pigs, playing with the sheep. Then a four... More

We loved the entire experience-the communication from Rodrigo, the director, was informative and warm; the guide, Rosanna, is a wonderful archaelogist; and the experience at the Pyramid was intensely spiritual and deeply moving. We will never forget it and are so grateful we didn't miss it. And the afternoon also included a delicious, all natural lunch at a ranch run... More

From the great initial communication to the final ride back up the canyon, Coyote Canyon Adventures did not disappoint! We visited a working ranch, were given lunch and watched fresh cheese being made before heading out on well trained horses, with wonderful guides into a canyon full of beautiful and rugged terrain. I needed a break from the city and... More

Took the 2 1/2 ride into the canyon with lunch following. What a great outing. Trail was interesting, canyon beautiful, wranglers top notch and the horses experienced and well mannered. The authentic lunch at the ranch afterward was outstanding. Was the best value of my experiences in San Miguel at $100. Would do it again at my first opportunity. No... More

I had hoped to write this review sooner, but there are limitations on TripAdvisor so I am writing it several months later. Rodrigo, your main contact at Coyote Canyon Adventures, is a pleasure to work with, and will do whatever he can to make your adventures the best. I asked if he could arrange a tour for my son and... This is the best archeological tour I have ever been on! Three of us were picked up by Albert in the center of SMA and we drove out with four others for a entire afternoon at the precolombian site of Canada de La Virgen about a thirty minute drive outside the town! Albert is an archeologist from Louisiana who was... More

Rodrigo picked us up in San Miguel and drove us half an hour to the ranch. His knowledge and enthusiasm of the area and history was impressive. The horses were great and we had a fantastic ride through the canyon including super galloping! Lunch at the conclusion of our ride was wonderful.

Before going to San Miguel I knew I wanted to do horse-back riding and was recommended Coyote Canyon Adventures, from friends who knew where to go not to get ripped off. And this was Worth every penny! Rodrigo, the handsome bilingual cowboy, came and picked us up and drove us out to a ferry tale like ranch full of cows,... More
