The prearranged Copper Canyon tour was perfect. We really appreciated English/Spanish tour guides, since we are totally non-Spanish speaking. Being a Group of two gave us much more flexibility than being in a large group; yet, we still enjoyed all of the perks: 1) great, prepaid food (just ask my waistline), 2) all transportation prearranged 3) lodging reserved, 4) knowledgeable... Recently, my wife and I booked a trip to the Copper Canyon with Canyon Travel. They were of great service with our itinerary and questions about what the canyons have to offer. We found an inexpensive trip to Cabo, so we spent a few days there before taking a one hour flight to the mainland. At the Los Mochis airport,... More

Though at first I thought Michael Mondini was a blow hard big mouth jerk. I listened to him and gave him my dreams to him and in the end he put it all together with perfection... it was a wonderful experience for my family and also for a 45 year old Dad looking for a little adventure. I was a... More

What a wonderful experience! Starting with Chal in El Fuerte to Mario at Urique Canyon to Maria at "the rim", we were treated to a very up-close-and-personal look at the real Mexico we wanted to see. We took the Western Canyon Explorer trip with Canyon Tours and were shown fascinating sights, served delicious foods and treated to very personal looks... More

Went with Trafalgar who outsourced the tour with an extremely capable and caring group of professionals from 'A Closer Look Tours'. The service provided was exceptional and the guide had a flair for adding personal touches. We were always safe as well as comfortable. We were prepared for our stops with lectures, materials, music, and videos as needed. The hotel... More

Canyon Travel has some poor reviews due to previous owners. We took a chance and signed up for the Western Canyon tour and had a wonderful time. It was a very individualized trip with native guides giving us the history and culture of the area as well as the names of the flora and fauna. The scenery is spetacular and... More

Our trip started at El Fuerte where we stayed at the Rio Vista Lodge. It is right by the river and we enjoyed a bird watching trip down the river. The food at the Rio Vista Lodge was excellent. Our journey continued on the train up to the canyon. We had great views of the mountains and admired tthe construction... More

After reading good reviews for the Canyon Travel trips, we booked an 8 day tour with them. Imagine our shock to get there and discover that no reservations had been made and none of our money had been forwarded to the service providers! We were told that this formerly great company has been coming unravelled for about a year. Over... More

The new management of Canyon Travel would like to apologize for your bad experience with the former owner. The reformed company, Copper Canyon Travel, is now operating most of the same tours, with the same wonderful lodges and excellent Mexican staff which were formerly employed by Canyon Travel/Emilio Kifuri. The new company is committed to correcting the problems which travelers... More

Much to my surprise, we discovered beautiful, magnificent canyons that went on and on. The trip was well planned. We were met at each destination by courteous and friendly people. Our guides were always there for us, helpful and enjoyable to be with. To be with the indigenous Indians will be a favorite experience long remembered.

There are several glowing reviews for Canyon Travel and Uno Lodge (owned and operated by Canyon Travel) posted. I have no doubt they were accurate at the time...but the situation has changed. If you book with Canyon Travel expecting Uno Lodge, they will take your money and divert you to another property at the last minute. Further, Canyon Travel demands... More

It is most embarrasing to be writing this response after 39 years of operating tourism to Copper Canyon. The recent flu scare was more negative to my business than the terrorism events of Sept. 11. Travelers cancelled in mass wanting refunds and this combined with a divorce where a lawyer did negligent misrepresentation by extending the process for four years... More
