A trip for kids!

My dad took us on this train in 1968. I was 7 or 8 years old? hard to say. I don't remember being bored at all. Just an amazing adventure. THANKS DAD!

We travelled from chihuahua to el fuerte on the 1st class train in February. The tickets were nearly £100 each. Food and drinks on the train are expensive and very average. Toilets are not what you expect for the ticket price. There is some good scenery if you stay over at one of the towns on the way but the... More

The "Copper Canyon Tour" is a wonderful experience. I would recommend this to adults only and to those interested in the history of the area. I think children would be bored and would be more trouble than they are worth. For adults the scenery, history, and overall experience should not be missed. Keep in mind that you are travelling through... More

We took a whirlwind tour from Chihuahua. Alejandra at the Plaza Inn in Los Mochis set up the whole trip for us and it went flawlessly. Find her at bookings@plazainnhotel.com.mx. The views are amazing. Traveler safety is very visable as the Federales are patroling the train at all times. At the stop in Diversadero we ate a local snack the... More

A friend and I took an independent tour of the Copper Canyon in northern Mexico using the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railway as our main means of transportation. Now, if you want to do an orgnaized our, they are all over the place and vary in price. We planned this tour ourselves and had assistance from Yolonda at 3 Amigos in... More

This was a great trip and one of my favorite trips to Mexico! I did an 8-day independent route from Chihuahua to El Fuerte then El Fuerte back to Chihuahua with overnight stops at Chihuahua, Bahuichivo/Cerocahui, El Fuerte, Posada Barrancas and Creel. The staff on the first class cars were great. There are railroad security police on each car (with... More

This is a train ride you will never forget--some say it is overrated, but when you see the double loops at Temoris, you will know that there is no way to overrate this railroad! Be sure to start in the west, best from El Fuerte, since the premium part of the train ride is the next four hours from there... More

The incredible ride on the Chihuahua RR. I actually was fortunate enough to experience it two times, in the mid-80's. Each time went halfway to Las Mochas, spent a couple of nights each time, then back. The most beautiful scenery is reputed to be between the Canyon and Chihuahua. The 2nd visit included my buddy from Dearborn, and two delightful... More
