Hi! I live in Playa del Carmen, very close to Sian ka'an... and I love it!! In my experience, taking a tour is terrible... and go ther for a day, its wrong too... The best experience is driving for yourself (the road is really terrible, but it's better than 5 years ago) from Tulum to Punta Allen, spend tha night... more

We took the all day tour from Cesiak and liked it, didn't love it. Whatever failings it had weren't the staff's fault;; they picked us up very promptly at our hotel (we stayed on the beach at Tulum, so it was a very short ride to our destination, but I'm not sure it would be worth a longer ride from,... more

I've read some bad reviews of Sian Ka'an, which makes feel bad for the people that seemed to have just taken the wrong tour. When my boyfriend and I went there last year, we toured through Community Tours. I beleive that we did the Muyil and Float tour - it was awesome, we loved it! It's starts out pretty standard... more

Unfortunately we wasted one full day of our vacation at this 'place'. The excursion starts with a horrendous drive for 2.5 hours, approximately 1.75 hours of that is spent on a terrible gravel bumpy road through the jungle. We stopped once on the way to go into the biosphere. What did we see? a couple of hermit crabs, and a... more

My husband and I recently returned from a week in Pureto Aventuras, a beautiful and delightful place to stay. The one disappointment of our trip was a drive to the Sian Kaan to find a beach that we remembered from a trip a few years ago. We found the beach that was once pristine to be covered in trash and... more

My husband and I took this trip a couple of days ago. We'd previously booked a tour for the day before with Aldebaran tours to Punta Allen, but due to bad weather they didn't show up - three of their buses stopped and the guys all told us our van would be along any minute and we also rang the... more

This is one place i really wanted to visit when planning our trip. We went to the tourist office when we arrived in Playa Del Carmen and they recommended a tour company. the tour went all the way down to Punta Allen, which was a bumpy but beautiful ride. Went out to the mangroves by boat and saw lots of... more

My partner and I had reserved a double tent-cabin at Cesiak for 7 nights in July-August 2007, but left 3 nights earlier than expected. As university ecologists, we wished to finish our vacation recharging our batteries in a place remained as natural as possible to read, swim, hike, watch the birds, and learn more about the coastal mexican species in... more

My husband and I drove to Cesiak to rent a kayak for the day. The drive was about 30 minutes from Tulum pueblo, 20 minutes on a dirt rode which we did in our rental car without much problem. The people there were really friendly and sent us out in our kayaks. We enjoyed being alone on the water and... more

We are a British family living in Cancun and have explored the Yucatan quite extensively. Nothing comapres to Sian Kaan.! Its so beautiful - I cried when I left!!! We stayed at CESIAK in tents/cabanas right next to the sea. The noise of the sea was all we could hear at night. We helped to release baby turtles into the... more
