There is no question - if the ruins were not there, there would be a resort or condos there. The water is really blue and clear and the view from the top of the ruins towards the white sand and the ocean is awesome. More than a few people were in the water, though changing rooms or showers seemed a... More

The beach just outside the Mayan Ruins in Tulum is outstanding! You can rent a chair, umbrella, towels, etc. and there is a great bar and restaurant on site. Bathroom/shower/changing rooms are included with any purchase. The Margaritas are the best I have ever had. They use all top shelf ingredients. The beach is one of the best in the... More

We traveled here from Cozumel and it was worth the ferry ride and car ride over! The water was gorgeous! The sand was white, and the waves were awesome! I only wish we had gotten to stay longer. It's not a very large beach, unless you pay extra to be on the other side. But it was perfect! Quite a... More

After exploring the amazing Mayan ruins in the super hot sun, we climbed up some stairs and looked down towards the beach. It was one of the most beautiful views I have ever had. The beach is small and there are no amenities or anything like that, but the contrast of the white sand and bright blue ocean with the... More

A bit busy near the ruins, hotel beaches are wonderful [combined with lunch if you are not staying there].

It was hard for us to find. Plus, you have to pay 150 pesos for 2 benches and an umbrella. But, it was too windy to open the umbrella. I ended up in the shade behind a palm tree. It felt a little like being sand-blasted with the wind whipping the sand at you. The waves are strong so watch... More

A stunning stretch of beach but small and cen generally only be accessed thru the ruins. There are much better beach areas in Tulum.

The Tulum ruins which back up to this beach are just breathtaking. A few giant rocks sit half-hidden in the sea. The entire scenery is just beautiful. Be prepared to see many iguanas- large and small!

My wife and I have vacationed on the riviera maya for 25 years. In all of our travels , from Cancun to Belize, we have never seen a beach like Tulum beach. From the ruins south to the Sian Kaan Biosphere....spectacular!!! This will be our 4th year renting a villa there. If you like to party it is not the... More
