we had a great experience with Community Tours and thoroughly recommend them to other travellers. We were impressed by the service we received at their offices in Tulum where the various options were explained clearly and we booked a tour for the next day. Our tour guide was Pepe who was first rate. We were very well looked after: he... More

My sister and I did this tour in early January and were vert pleased. Katrin made the arrangements very easy for us and our local guide Aldo made the day a real treat as he took us by boat around the reserve and the canals. We were blessed with amazing clear water both in the ocean and in the canals.... More

We enjoyed our nearly four-hour tour, got to see some egrets, herons and frigate birds, and visited a small Mayan ruin. But when the owner -- guide Aldo's dad -- asks you to move your car from a parking space right in front of their stand along the road, and park it in a small clearing lined with garbage, refuse.... Booking the trip online with Katrin was convenient because she communicated quickly with emails. Then we met Aldo, who was simply the bomb! He knows the place so well yet his passion still showed. He took us through the lagoon, pointed to all the fascinating animals he spotted, brought us to a private and pristine beach, zipped around the mangrove... More

Started off the day by driving to the meeting point Aldo provided directions for which was clear and easy to follow. We were a group of three - my husband and I and another lady solo traveller. The drive further into the final area where we parked was extremely bumpy, but nothing extremely uncomfortable. Then it was a boat ride... More

This was a beautful trip in the Sian Ka'an with a great tour leader. We were picked up at our hotel and then driven to the entrance point. This tour included launch, snorkeling, boat ride, personal flotation along canals. Aldo was very knowledgable and clearly passionate about the animals and protective areas of the biosphere.

Yeah, he was a little late, there was traffic. We told the big guy at the folding table at the stone arch that we were there to meet Aldo and it was okay. We parked and waited. You drive, bump-ump-bump, walk to the dock and WOW, what a lagoon. It's unbelievable. Aldo has a little 6 person covered skiff (you... More

Once you're in Tulum, rent a jeep with your friends and start driving on the way to Boca Paila, is like 7km from Tulum Pueblo to the Sian Ka án Gate and then 35 km...all the way down to Punta Allen, the road It is unpaved but you can enjoy and observe different types of birds and swimming in its... We had a blast with Aldo in Sian Ka'an. In fact, our time with him was the highlight of our trip. Go! We are nature lovers and enjoyed the beautiful snorkeling, amazing wildlife (crocs, birds, orchids, fish, etc.), a winding lagoon out of this world, and wild scenery -- with very few other people there. Aldo is kind, knowledgeable and... More

Our visit to Sian Kaan was one of the best experiences we've had in 3 trips to Mexico. It was not crowded. Our guide Rigo spoke english and was informative. It had a variety of activities and experiences. We took our rental car to Muyil and visited the ruins ($7 US dollars per person ish). We walked the boardwalk to... More
