I just got back from a week in both Tulum and Playa del Carmen. It was so sad to find that the beaches were covered w piles and piles of seaweed that is rotting and giving off a terrible odor. Nowhere did I read about this. I can go w the flow like the best of them, but the seaweed... More

Over rated tourist trap. Sticky with ALOT of fruit flies and ants. Run of the mill food and rude bartenders. I am WELL traveled all through the Yucatan and I have an obligation to all travelers to direct them to "fulfilling" destinations, even if it just for a drink or snack. My husband & I stumbled across Punta Allen a few years ago and fell in love with its pristine beach! We ate at Ziggy beach during our first trip and made a point to return this visit to Mexico. Their food is amazing (we ordered the coconut shrimp, fish tacos and guacamole). They are THE BEST coconut shrimp we've ever... More

Years ago, I fell in love with this stretch of beach when it was home to very rustic lodgings. Things are more upscale now, but the beach is still as lovely as ever. I go here when I need a little "coddling." The lounge beds are free with lunch. It is seldom crowded. The bar is very nice. The menu... More

The place is on the beach, which makes everything test good. We had some vegetarian dishes and were entertained by mariachi band. The musicians were obviously having fun themselves dancing with kids from the next table, which made fun for everyone.

My friend and I stayed next to Ziggy's at The Beach Hotel, so this was our hotel's breakfast joint & also beach bar as we whiled away many a blissful hour on the stunning beach and beside our pool. The food is excellent, service fast, cocktails tropical and inventive and location was pure paradise. Breakfast was a veritable feast with... More

I've visited Ziggy Beach Club twice this year and wonder what took me so long. They have better than average beach food and service, and great drinks. They were very patient with my children, including when one spilled her smoothie on the table. The beach beds and view are heavenly. It's in a great location to leave your bag/towel behind... More

We had the chance to visit many of the beach clubs up and down the beach road and traveled all the way down to the entrance of Sian Kaan biosphere. In my opinion, the further you travel towards Sian, the less crowded the beach is, as many people just don't want to ride bikes all the way to this area,... More
