We got this recommendation from our hosts and honestly it was really really amazing. We did the tour muyil ruins + jungle walk + boat ride across two lagoons and then the best part: the floating!!!! Er truly loved it and had the best, funniest and fluently English speaking guide Omar. We only were a group of 5! The food... More

I took the Ancient Canals tour and I can attest that we truly "floated in ecstasy"! The reserve is beautiful; the guides are knowledgeable, very nice and proud of their culture. The traditional lunch was delicious. Wear biodegradable sunblock and a hat, so you don´t get badly sunburnt like I did…

The highlight of this tour is definitely the lagoon "lazy river" float -utterly quiet and peaceful with just our tour group floating along the mangrove canal in beautiful clear waters. Not what we were expecting and a real highlight of our trip. We also loved speeding across the lagoons in the boat. The tour also takes in a short walk... More

Have you ever swam in the " Agua dulce"? Yes, I have! With this tour of Sian Ka'an, you will swim in the canal which is surounded with mangrove jungle! Once you arrive at their office, super friendly staffs will welcome you. What is 'Achiote'? Ask them. What's 'Tikinxiik'? Never shouldn't be shy there. The big point of this tour,... More

I enjoy going on tours while traveling because you learn so much more than you can from reading a book or searching the internet. We just finished a tour of the Sian Kaan biosphere in Mexico with Community Tours. It was one of those tours that I can say was informative, fun and worth the price. Our tour guide, Antonio,... We were amazed at how diverse the tour was. We spent time in the jungle, seeing the ruins, seeing the wetlands, traveling by boat over lagoons with crystal blue water, and swimming in the freshwater channels of the lagoons. Afterwards we ate a delicious Mayan meal. Be sure to order the Mayan fish! We had the best tour guide, full... More

We booked the ancient canal tour which included visiting three lagoons, floating down a river, seeing manatees and crocodiles and having a traditional Mayan lunch. Tour guide was great (Manuel!). We had people from three linguistic backgrounds in our group and he made a real effort to explain the tour in all languages so everyone felt included. The river float... More

By far our favorite day in Tulum. We did the 4 hour lagoon and canal tour (door to door it was 8a-3:30p). For $100 a pop they picked us up from hotel, drove us to the biosphere, boated us around for the day, and then fed us Mayan lunch on our back to town. We had plenty of opportunities to... More

The best day ever! We were picked up by Community Tours and taken to meet our guide, then had a quick Mayan snack at a beautiful Mayan-built structure, before heading out for a walk through the Sian Kaan preserve, with both nature and old Mayan archeological structures. Our guide was great - so sincere, very knowledgeable about the history and... More

We drove to Sian Kaan (at Muyil) in our own car and joined a tour. It started at about 9am with an orientation talk of about 15 minutes. The bilingual guide from Community Tours was very knowledgable and engaging throughout the 6-hr tour. We next sat down together as a group of 11 and had a snack they provided before... More
