We were a large group of 7, booked the tour through our hotel in Tulum, and couldn't have enjoyed this more. In our group we had several boat enthusiasts, a marine biologist and a few history buffs, and everyone left satisfied. The swimming/floating was great, the high-speed boating through the mangrove forest was exciting and we saw lots of birds.... More

They picked us up ontime in a new minivan with A/C.....We did the canal and lagoons tour in a small boat with 6 persons. The mayan guide was very helpful and spoke decent English although I confess I monopolized him in Spanish and he was then very forthcoming about the history of the area, the caste war, the unuasual ecology... First, I have to commend our guide, Manuel, he really knows his way around the area of Sian Ka'an and demonstrates excellent hospitality throughout the entire tour. We were staying at Dreams Tulum and Manuel and Jorge (the driver) came to pick us up. We then got to drive around Tulum City picking up some others. This was a bit... More

Booked this tour thru Akumal dive shop. Last year when booked thru community tours we did not get picked up. Did the ancient canal tour. Riding boat thru was good but floating was the best. Saw manatees, osprey, pelicans nesting, pink flamingos and many more birds. Mayan lunch was authentic food and was great end to tour. Highly recommend.

Since I could not access this tour by telephone and they didn't respond to their email, I drove out to Muyil and booked the bird watching tour in person. Unfortunately I missed the tour the next day due to the time change and went out to rebook the tour. I decided on the four hour tour in a boat thru... More

Treat yourself to this tour. It was one of the best day trips we did. Community Tours were easy to work with and professional. They will pick you up from your hotel, drive you to their offices in the Puebla - that's to finish paperwork and finalize payment. Tours are up to 12 people, not huge and not too small... More

This was a very good tour due to the fact that our guide Alberto. He was very proud of his job and the nature at Sian Ka'an. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The food was very good at the end of the tour. I would recommend this tour to all. Again, hats off to our guide Alberto!!!

The tour was the most enjoyable activity I did during my time in Tulum. We went for a "Mayaking" tour on a quiet day. Our guide, Caesar, was friendly and knowledgeable about the biosphere, Mayan history and culture, both ancient and contemporary. We were glad to learn that this tour enterprise was conducted by Mexicans, mostly local, unlike some tours... More

This trip to Sian Ka'an is multifacted: a visit to some small ruins, a walk in a wooded area with a wildlife viewing platform, a boat trip and another walk through a wetland. Lots to see -- all of it interesting. We were initially concerned that our guide was too talkative but we soon came to appreciate and enjoy his... More

I was just in Tulum and was really looking forward to the Sian Ka'an Community Tours Forest Hike and Float trip. I was traveling with a friend and he went on a Wednesday and loved it. The trip was as advertised - a short hike in the jungle amid Mayan ruins with a naturalist, a view above the canopy from... More
