Scuba Libre has been operating in Playa del Carmen since 1998.Currently Scuba Libre operates two dive centers, one located in the heart of Playa del Carmen only 30m/100ft from the sea and the other inside of the Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and Spa, 6km/4mi north of Playa del Carmen. Scuba Libre is a PADI 5* Gold Palm Resort and active member of APSA (Riviera Maya Association of Dive & Water Sports Operators.)Scuba Libre's Dive Masters and Instructors are very familiar with the diverse dive sites along Playa del Carmen and are very experienced in training and guiding divers. Scuba Libre teaches all levels of PADI courses in German, English, Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch. A maximum of 6 divers per Dive Master or 4 students per Instructor are taken into the ocean, this way Scuba Libre can give full attention to all clients and ensure them the safest and most exciting dive experience possible.Scuba Libre's boats have been specially customized for diving activities, providing all the space and comfort that a diver may expect, plus all of the necessary safety equipment that an open sea operation requires.The boats and dive centers are fitted with state of the art radio communications with direct access to the Local SSS Recompression Chamber of Playa del Carmen and DAN Americas.

My mom and I (51 and 23) did the Open Water Divers PADI course at ScubaLibre in sandos caracol. Our instructor, Isa, was really great.. Very sensible and extremely good at teaching techniques. We really enjoyed the course. I afterwards went to the Cenotes "dos ojos" to do a fun dive which was great aswell. Unique! My aunt and cousing... More

My wife and I were met by Marco at Sandos resort who gave us some excellent options with young kids, Excellent get away from Sandos for one day returning at 2pm, We took a trip to Akumul and 2 Cenotes with a awesome snack provided by the locals. A group of 5 girls dived with Scuba Libre for a week in April. The staff were informative, knowledgeable and very friendly. The dive shop is clean and extremely well organized. I discovered that Sciba Libre has a dive shop right in my hotel - Sandos Caracol- by mere chance by visiting the beach towel booth)). We did our open water certification dives with Scuba Libre. They were awesome! They were very patient with our two girls who were having trouble equalizing their ears. At the end of the week, all four of us were certified.

I had two days of diving with these guys and they where really helpful in planning my dives and gave me a good package price . Silvia was great and looked after organizing everything for me. I have always wanted to scuba dive my whole life. Our instructor Jonathan was so very patient with me and very friendly. Cannot say enough good things about all of the staff there. Great pictures taken by our photogrpher Gustavo as well. Well organized team and great equipment. The dives were breathtaking!

We were at sandos caracol in August 2014. Scuba Libre is a professional, and very good organized Scuba center. I can recommend it

Great folks!! I did my Open Water certification and two rec dives, a family snorkelling expedition and water sports with the folks at Scuba Libre though the Sandos Caracol location. All the equipment (snorkelling equipment, scuba gear, catamarans, jet skis etc) was in great condition and very well maintained from the constant work I saw being done. Transportation was top... First time out to scuba dive In the pool was instruction Out in the water was a little nervous but the instructor was very good we took 2 dives and checked that off the bucket list
