This golf course was a 10 minute walk from the Riu Palace Mexico where I was staying. I teed off early to try and beat the heat. The price includes green fees, driving range balls, power cart and all inclusive for food and beverages. Course has changed its name to the Hard Rock Golf Club. I found it to be... More

Overpriced unless you live in Playa Car or get a golf package discount from a local hotel. Challenging however and worth the play at least once.

This is a Walter Von Hage course, and offers the good and the fair golfer a great test of golf. It has a lot of water, and trees and sand on almost every hole. I was surprised by the condition of the course. Excellent. If you are staying at the Playacar Palace, or on of the fine resorts in Playa... More

Turned up for a game of golf organised by the Guest Services from our Hotel (Occidental Grand) . This price on arrival suddenly changed. Maybe a misunderstanding between the Hotel and the Golf course but the attitude from the lady member of staff was appalling. We had made clear to all what our requirements were. What was disappointing is they... More

Compared to nearby courses, Mayakoba and Iberostar, this course pales in comparison. The price is comparable to the other two, but it is not in the same condition. Basically, the course should be priced at half to make it a value. Not for the duffer, since it is fairway then jungle!

Playacar Golf Club was the closest golf course to our hotel, so we figured, why not? It was literally a 5 minutes walk, which we took advantage of (it is beauitful and in a gated community!). We had made sure before we arrived in Mexico that our reservation was confirmed and confirmed again once we had arrived. We were greeted... More

We played this course several times and had a great time. Fairways narrow and greens are difficult so we recommend arriving early enough to practice on the greens and chipping area before teeing off. The jungle tends to devour golf balls so bring extra. Golf fee includes cart, beverages and snacks and also food in the club house. Excellent value.

we had a wonderful golf outing. The course was in great shape they have re numbered the holes and changed the Tees. The staff are very friendly. It was busy but it moved. Always a lot of fun and Hard Rock has made good improvements. It is a little shorter so it can move faster still very challenging . Have... More

A friend described the course perfectly, it's a good vacation golf course but not some place I would seek out. If you are expecting the ocean views, this course isn't it. We played Mayakoba before this round so we were a little spoiled. The food choices are limited and the clubhouse is very small.

I first played Playacar in 1996 when it was first carved out of the jungle and then again 10 years later as it became more developed and again now that it is mature. It is rated as the toughest course in the Yucatan and that rating is well deserved. Not particularly long or tricky and in good condition, but the... More
