The once expansive and delighful white sand beaches are being desroyed by the hurricans of the last 5 years or so. Large areas are now rocky and unpleasant to walk down. While still a delightful place to visit and swim, it will soon be necessary for government intervention to prevent the loss of the beautiful seafront. more

We were not sure if we wanted to go to Playa del Carmen, but when we got there we loved it!! They have all these nice shops where you can bargain to get your moneys worth.
