The kids and people were welcoming. Makes you appreciate what we have back at home. But we have to remember that these people are used to this kind of living and this is their natural habitat.

Very warm, be sure to bring water, also worth the extra $$ to hire a guide and to take a Pedicab to furthest pyramid.

Visit Coba if you are staying in Playa del Carmen! Awesome learning about the Mayan people and being able to climb the pyramid. Glad we chose this one over Chizen Itza. If you don't want to walk to the pyramid once you get in, you can rent bikes or hire a bike taxi for 110 pesos. Well worth the money!

There is a lot to see and learn. It's in the jungle so expect insects and possibly other things to be around and wear comfortable shoes. Unlike the Tulum ruins this area is covered with trees with lots of shade but there is no breeze so it's very steamy. I love visiting the mayan ruins in the Yucatan peninsula and... More

Our guide Raul was so knowledgable about the Mayan culture and history was so informative. The lunch was good and the swim in the Cenote was exhilarating.

This was a wonderful experience, where we were able to climb to the top of the largest Mayan pyramid, check out up close two other very large pyramids and ruins, including two ball courts! It is all situated in a wooded area, and there weren't a lot of tourists, so it was very fun checking everything out at our leisure... More

Coba gives you the opportunity to learn the history of the ruins as well as history and culture of the Mayans who built them

A great day out, mixing sight seeing, culture, meeting local people & a little souvenir shopping. In our view, this historic site exceeds the alternative since it has not had the level of restoration that that has and you are therefore able to climb to the top of the main temple which offers stunning panoramic views across the jungle canopy.... Although it is far from Playa del Carmen, if you like archeology Coba Worth a visit. Take a guide inside the site and bargain the price (we paid $30 USD for the complete tour). It is also necessary to rent a bike or other transport to ride the park because it is huge. I took a tricycled with a driver... More

Fantastic tour with guide Castillo. Funny, and informative, as well as very passionate about the programs and info he was presenting. Came away with a much greater understanding of the Mayan culture, as well as having tons of fun too. Saw the Coba ruins first, with a guided tour of the closest ruins, then had free time to go all...
