I went to Coba on Monday 29/9/14. I went with Thomson. The pick up arrived on time and Ricardo the tour guide was very informative. He welcomed us onto the bus and during our journey provided pastries, coffee and juice. As we got closer to Coba he began telling us more about what our day would entail. We arrived at... More

Our tour guide reckon in few years they will start working on restoration/preservation so it will get closed off like Chichen Itza, so go there while you can still experience climbing to the top of the temple. Take bug repellents and use it! Plenty of mosquitoes are around to bite you. Oh and watch out for odd tarantulas here and... More

The guide made the trip. he knew lots of things, being an archaeological student meant he knew his subject well. he knew about Aztecs, Mayan's and pre-Mayan people. Brought it all to life. . The Mayan village bit was rubbish and I had a discussion with the tour guide afterwards. Coba - truly inspiring and mind blowing Cenote - open... More

This is a very important trip to go on if you like to learn something about the Mexican culture and history. A great day out.

We decided to book this trip on the advice of a Thomson rep (a local Mexican chap) who warned us off Chichen Itza due to its increasingly commercialised nature and the fact you can no longer climb it. So, being keen to have a shot of Mayan culture without the souvenir sellers hounding you, Coba it was.. The good bits:... More

Brilliant day trip so fascinating to stand looking at these ruins with all the history. We got a bike taxi from main gate to main pyramid was 120 pesos money well spent. The guy was v friendly and informative talking us through everything as we went past.

Great place. Very quiet and secluded. Hardly anyone there. Don't take a tour, they give you some cool info, but I would have rather just explored on my own. Rent a bike, it's only around $4 and the big pyramid is kind of far. The big one is really cool to climb, but very humid so take a lot of... More

The ruins feel just like indiana jones. The view from the main pyramid is amazing! I suggest you rent a bycycle. Also visit the three cenotes nearby, totally worth it and we had them all to ourselves!!! This place is a must!!

We did a trip which involved tour of the coba maya ruins, zip wires, canoeing, repelling & going into a cenote & seeing a dry cenote & visiting the Mayan village. It was well worth the money, our tour guide was amazing which was booked through yellow tours but I think it was called jungle tours on the bus. If... More

The Cobe Mayan Encounter was an amazing tour package. We hiked and zip-lined through the Mayan jungle, canoed across a river, repelled into a cenote, had lunch with the Pac Chen villagers and concluded by climbing the Coba pyramid. We had a amazing tour guide, Riaz Escobedo, who made me feel completely comfortable with all the new experiences. Thanks Riaz!... More
