It was very handy to have a small mall located across the street from the Viva Wyndham Maya. For those that don't want the hassle of heading into Playa del Carmen, this is helpful to be able to quickly shop for snacks and souvenirs. However, like everything else in this area - it's a little more expensive.

We visited Plaza Playacar a few times during our two week stay and we did actually buy a few souvenirs and we also used Maya Tours to book our trips. There are maybe 10 to 15 shops and then a few stalls, they don't hassle you too much, certainly nowhere near like in (5th Avenue) Playa Del Carmen anyway. There's... More

Nothing really special at the Plaza playacar. Like anywhere else around, same ole stuff. It's something to check out if you're in Playacar.

Stay away from this poor excuse of a tourist shopping plaza. Complete rip off, actually threatened to call Police claiming we broke something in a store we didn't even go into.STAY AWAY....FAR AWAY! Scared the family from ever coming back to Mexico who needs that garbage when traveling....nice job

It is a good little shopping area to pick up suntan lotion, medicine, a hat or sun glasses. For real shopping, I would go into town.

We always spend sometime here looking at the unique and sometimes odd gifts and knick knacks although this time we went into Artes Taxco Jewelry and meet Porfiio who was wonderful to deal with there was no pressure applied here, it was look around try things on and then go and see him if you had any questions or wanted... I've visited Playacar twice now and although have been to 5th ave on both occasions if you cant be bothered with the hassle these little shops are great and offer a good selection of trinkets to take home. They're very handy being just across the road from most of the Riu hotels. Also has a Starbucks which is great for... More

I struggled between average and very good on this one. It's not totally cheese ball, but it's on the verge. We found some nice souvenirs and didn't feel raped by the prices. Stamps said made in Mexico, not China, so that was comforting. The area is safe and you can haggle with the kiosk vendors, but not the shopkeepers, FYI.... More
