We decided to walk to the plaza which was about 5 mins from Hotel Quetzal. We did go fairly early about 6ish so it was very quiet. The atmosphere was flat and as we walked around the shops they lacked originality! It was the same old tourist tat and at very high prices. I come from London and it's cheaper... More

A brilliant place to go and shop at an extremely good price! I must recommend the spray painting artist who is just so talented and art is affordable! We biked from our resort and felt safe throughout our trips (we went twice) a great place!

The shops were nice to look around in. We got our souvenirs here for good prices. Our favorite buy was our two Riviera Maya shirts for $24. The Starbucks in the Plaza has good WiFi. It is right across the street from Viva Wyndham Maya. We stayed at this resort. Maya has everything that you need.

They have the normal tourist things. The prices were higher than they were in downtown Playa del Carmen. The people were rather friendly and helpful.

Plaza Playacar is easily reached from Hotels such as Riu Palace Mexico, Iberostar Tucan etc by simply crossing the road and turning right - about 300 yards from the Iberostar and 100 yards from the Riu Palace Mexico. From Riu Tequila simply turn left and walk 100 yards. It has a Starbucks, Chemist, number of stalls (some tat), shops, ATMs... More

Some of the prices here were likely higher than what you can bargain for in Playa del Carmen, but due to storms we ran out of time and went here. The prices were better than the resort. Standard souvenir stuff. Couldn't believe how many needed their Starbucks from here. I loved getting away from some of that culture but it... More

My sister and I went shopping for souvenirs and cover ups and were very disappointed. The kiosks had mostly junk and the prices were higher than you would find down on 5th street or the other side streets. A lot of the items were even faded from being out in the sun all day. The boutiques were also expensive. We... More
