I needed some new flip flops and as Plaza Playacar is very close to our hotel (Riu Palace) it is a more convenient option compared to fifth Avenue. If you need something in a hurry the likelihood is it will cater for your needs

We walked down to Plaza Playacar several mornings after breakfast and really enjoyed shopping in this little center just West of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya where we were staying. There were a few pushy salesmen, but nothing too bad at all. We also enjoyed having our picture taken with an adorable little monkey that hangs out each day in... More

Like a small Fifth Avenue.....Good quality goods.... able to bargain down prices....some very interesting local artisans with original creations. Overall good value for your buck. Loved it.

Just what Playacar needs. A plaza with shops so close to all the resorts. Just a short walk away, you can buy souvenirs, sign up for tours or get a massage. Starbucks has free Wifi and stores to pickup anything you may have forgotten at home. Wont replace 5th ave. but will do in a pinch.

Like the walk down 5th st in the evening, not as hot as in the daytime. Lots to see, a little disappointed that we could not eat at Senior frogs cause they were preparing for a concert.

And, not so convenient if you are making a separate trip there! It's interesting, I wouldn't say that any of the shops are that impressive with the range of merchandise or pricing, but some of the little eateries are charming. If you happen to be renting (or owning) in Playacar, then it is a convenient little village in the area.... More

We shopped here while staying at a nearby resort. Some of the same stuff as seen on 5th Ave but a lot less crowded and the vendors not as pushy. There is a Starbucks if that's your thing.

Liked Incredibly convenient, I bought a couple souvenirs from here and was very tempted to do the fish foot spa! I ended up buying Corona from here, as there were none at my hotel! Disliked Some things were very over priced. I understand making money off of customer's needs.. but $22 CAD for mascara? Really? That's a little excessive. I... More
