We went ot Xcaret at the end of June 2009 and my family loved it. The butterfly pavillion and the birds were awesome. The aquarium was also very good. We weren't sure what we do with the camera when we went on the underground river. When we finally did it they had a locked bag they put it in and... more

Following welcome meeting spoke to rep and asked if this was best water theme park to visit for 3 adults and 1 very active 16 year old boy, informed this was best option. told that we should book the 'plus ticket' as this included locker, towel snorkel gear and life jacket rental, also 2 free drinks and a buffet lunch.... more

We only paid 40/person because the park is adjacent to our hotel. I was really excited about it but it ended up being such a disappointment. The snorkeling wasn't any good, you couldn't see anything. The underground river is man made. All of the animals are in enclosures. The beach was gross. Also when we went to the night show,... more

Reviews are mixed on this park and so were we until the shows started and it all made sense. We were going to go to Hidden Worlds but woke up late with a hangover so paid the basic entrance and went in at 1230. The park advertising gives you the impression of a jungle theme park with the best beaches... more

This was place was so much more than I expected. We paid $69.99 for just the general admission and it was well worth it. There are two options to take for the underwater cave tours. It was great to have the snorkel gear, but not a must. It was great just to be able to kick back and ride it.... more

This is a must see if you are in the area of Playa del Carmen. It is a 15-20 minute drive from Playa del Carmen (We rented a car) There's free parking which is a plus. We went on a Wednesday and the park was not crowded at all. There were no lines for anything. The scenery and the foliage... more

My daughter, 8, and I visited Xcarat with another family on June 9, 2009. I was extremely disappointed. I guess I got caught up on their website with the beautiful pictures and assumed that would be a reality. The underground river you either snorkle or float (as in our case) through was a great experience. The water was cooler than... more

May 30 - We were four adult (40 +/-) women and we couldn't figure out this park. We just kept asking each other "what are we missing?" We did one of the underground rivers and that was fun. The flying men were cool to see. The lizards we kept seeing all over were neat too. The Sea Turtles were great,... more

Xcaret is not Xel-ha, and the beach is not like in Playa...and you do have to walk, so why compare? This is a serious ecological park, with actual scientists working there, it's not a theme park! I was there in February 2008 and have been trying to get back ever since. Two full days should do it, there is a... more
