This is my first bad review ever on TripAdvisor, but I had to do it to warn other people about this really bad company. We went on 2 tours with Adventures Mexico, both departing from Merida. First one was to Uxmal, we ended up in a van fully loaded of people and got to squeeze in the back during the... More

Today was a visit to the big market in Merida with Adventures Mexico for a Cooking Class. Started by having a walk through Merida’s Downtown. Ruben, our Adventures Mexico guide gave us a quick briefing on the most important buildings overlooking the Main Square, and then we walked to one of the main markets of Merida, Lucas de Galvez. Ruben... More

This was a wonderful beginning to our Yucatan adventure. From the informative tasty market experience to the family home cooking class.......it was all just as fabulous as described by others Fun to share everything learned with our friends who did not attend. Can't say enough about Suri ! A delightful travel cooking hostess. Take the time you will not be... More

My wife, her friend and I did this tour and had a wonderful experience. Our guide, Suri, walked us (us 3 and another couple) through the various food markets highlighting local fruits, spices and prepared food. From time to time she would buy something and split it amongst the group; other times someone would be curious about an ingredient and... More

I will just repeat what others have described.. A lovely time with Suri at the market and her family home. Nice small group and good food. Really enjoyed the warmth, generosity, and knowledge about the huge market and all its ins and outs. Just great. really worth doing if you want to learn how to shop and cook in Yucatan.

We met outside the hotel Caribe and walked through town to the market. This is a busy, fascinating place where you get a feel for the real Merida. Suri was excellent at explaining what the different foods were and we got to taste lots of different stuff - strange fruits, conchinita pibil, chicharrones, sweets etc. We then took a local... More

My wife and I took the Merida market and cooking tour and what a great five hours we had. Reuben met us and another visitor at the Hotel Caribe shortly after 9 am. We decided on the menu after learning that we needed to be gluten free and vegetarian. Reuben said no problem and led us to the most amazing... More

My husband and I did this tour of the local markets with Suri, bought in gredients for lunch and went into her mother Sarah's home to cook our lunch! Suri was wonderful about pointing things out and answering my unending questions - we learned a great deal about the culture of the Yuktan through food and visiting the markets! I... More

This was a really fun and useful market tour and cooking class. We're in Merida for a few weeks so were looking for shopping/cooking tips, but this class would also be great just for an excursion on its own. Suri took us through the market, stopping to answer all of our questions and to let us sample fruit, drinks, empanadas,... More

The absolute highlight of our Yucatan adventure. A Must-Do! Suri and her mother were exceptionally nice and welcoming, making sure our experience was great and consistently fun for all. The tour through the market was fascinating, and the home-made food was superb. It says a lot that now, thanks to this tour, the best Mexican food I have ever had... More
