This like a lot of places in Merida is free, and def worth visiting at least once. The paintiings are incredible, the building is impressive and it's right there in the square. Also the tourist office is just as you enter so it's handy to find out what's going on. More

Just walk on by the guards at the door as it is free to enter. The huge murals painted by Pacheco are worth stopping in to see and understand with the English placard. Very powerful works. More

For me, the police at the entrance while always friendly, communicate a seriousness about the place. Several large murals are on display on both the ground level and upper level. The murals are impressive by their size and the images which reflect the Mayan history in the Yucatan. More

The murals here are beautiful and are well explained, so you don't need a guide. You could easily spend an hour here as it's really peaceful and has lovely views across the square. It was my favourite thing to do in Merida and it was free! More
