We're not staying at a resort for this trip to Cozumel, and wanted to try out a beach club. Because of its distance from town ($20 USD cab each way), Playa Palancar is less crowded than many of the other clubs. Service was friendly and attentive, and food was on par with what you get at a 3 star resort... More

This was my first trip to Cozumel, and I meticulously researched every beach they had to offer before deciding to visit Playa Palancar. The pros seemed to be that there was no $100 entry fee, like most of the the other resorts, and that the beach was sand bottom (as I am very pregnant, and could not do most of... More

I found Playa Palancar here on Trip Advisor. We (four of us including a 16 and 14 year old) visited Cozumel on the Carnival Legend April 8, 2014. The taxi there was a breeze - $20 for four. We got there early and were the first to arrive. A crew came out and raked the beach. The weather was a... More

Excellent food, great service and a nice quiet beach. Great launching spot for snorkelling tours by boat, though the water is very shallow there for wading and swimming!

We have visited Playa Palancar beach 4 times in the last 7 years. It continues to change as it grows in popularity. It was once a relatively unknown place. It is now becoming more well known. Still, very worth a visit if in Cozumel. Our latest trip here was Jan 2014. We have always been in Cozumel as a cruise... More

Cute little park with no admission fee. The beach is beautiful. There were not many people when we went, so were able to snag several chairs and a table. Had a few beers and ordered a grilled lobster tail, which was excellent. A few peacocks roaming around gave it atmosphere. The snorkeling was good but not great.

Two years ago we had a relaxing time at Corona Beach, but to try something different this year we went to Palancar Beach. Very different experience. We like to sit in the shade, out of the sun, so we sat down at a table with an umbrella. We were immediately approached and told the table was for food only, and... More

Was expecting better snorkeling--how could it be--it was sand bottom. The beach was narrow. The place was crowded and the food same as all the others.

We enjoyed a day off the cruise ship (NCL Jewel) at Playa Palancar. We set off for the beach early as we knew 7 ships were docking in Cozumel that day! We were over joyed to find that few ventured as far as Playa Palancar that day as the area remained peaceful, quiet and not over run. The beach area... More

We stopped at Playa Palancar during our tour around the island. After seeing the rough waters of the east shore it was great to discover this calm and peaceful bit of paradise. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and enjoyable. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. I'm sure the reef... More
