Laid back Mexican style beach

Lovely beach with Mexican vibe. Not over commercialized, cold beer and good beach food. No cruise ship people here.

Not going to knock your socks off, but nice enough sand. If you're looking for great waves to swim or surf, or anything to see under the waves in the way of exotic fish, there are better options on Cozumel, but overall, it's serviceable.

The beach has soft sand and very little rocks. This is the beach to go with the family for the day. The palapas used for personal shade and a table for the family are very low on the sides to offer the maximum amount of shade while enjoying your day at the beach. They have a restaurant, bar and bathrooms... More

While I was here back in August 2014, I had to come back. Still has everything I love, a beautiful beach with soft clean sand. Very few rocks as you wade out with drink in hand, the slope is so gentle you have to go out about 50' to be chest deep. It's blissfully peaceful and quiet with no loud... More

It's a further away than most of the "touristy" beach clubs. There is no entrance fee...only a fee to rent a big umbrella and lounge chairs ($8USD). There are showers, restrooms and a restaurant. It has a real beach and an authentic feel...not manmade like the other places.

Took the snorkeling boat tour from Playa Palancar and had a great experience. We saw lots of fish, of course, plus sting rays and sea turtles. It was really fun. I'm not an experienced snorkeler and I did find it to be a little tiring because there seemed to be a lot of waves (which may be normal, I wouldn't... More

This is our favorite place in Cozumel to go when we want a relaxing beach day. Absolutely wonderful service, food is delicious....my favorite is the fish tacos and guacamole... and deliciously potent drinks. I have recommended this beach to many friends and I have never had someone come back and tell me that Playa Palancar didn't deliver.

My husband and I were scheduled to be in Cozumel on a cruise. We'd been there at least a dozen times before. Since we were traveling with 4 other folks, we wanted to find something a little more out-of-the-way and relaxed. Playa Palancar is just the ticket! It's about a 15-minute taxi ride from the International Pier. For a set... More

I have been here 3 times in my life and each time it was progressively worse. I realize this particular review is in May about my visit in December 2014, but what can I say, I am thinking about Cozumel because we will be there in a week!!! We will NOT be going here. This last visit I was amazed... More
