Lovely place to relax, not a lot of people at all, easy to get a seat, saw wild peacocks, easy cab ride from ferry, good large drinks, clean bathroom facilities, professional picture taking oppurtunity with lovely frames, pretty water and very relaxing. The only thing is that going into the water is very rocky and hurts your feet. Think about... More

First, the beach here is beautiful. But that's where the experience ends. The waiters were unfriendly and we felt that we were inconveniencing them by ordering food and drinks, though they descended upon us as we arrived to say we couldn't stay unless we ordered from the menu (which we came intending to do). The lounge chairs were rotted with... More

Planacar is one of the first beaches we fell in love with when we first visited the island in 1999. It has a wonderful sandy white beach with easy access to the ocean. At that time, it was a fairly unknown beach area so it was always easy to get a beach chair of your choice. Sadly, it’s no longer... More

Read the Trip Advisor reviews about Palancar beach and it turned out to be everything we wanted. We only had one day on a cruise stop and wanted something a bit more quiet. We were going to take a taxi but decided to rent a scooter instead and we were glad we did. We felt really safe on the main... More

Playa Palancar beach club is a fairly pricey cab ride from town, but it's definitely worth the journey if you're looking for a nice sandy beach and good service. Even though it's less promoted than other beach clubs, it was quite busy when we arrived late morning on a Tuesday. My husband and I got the last 2 lounge chairs... More

This is the southernmost beach on the West side of the island and has become a huge hot-spot for cruise traffic who are seeking a day-trip on the island. I most-always dive with Dive Choice Mexico, but have taken a boat from this beach resort on a couple occasions - which is very close to Palencar reef. Their prices have... More

stopped here to check out the beach and have some beers, water was all churned up and stepping on rocks basically while swimming. not many chairs available, sand was nice, waiters all over you to order something. beers $3.50 ea! didn't stay long to say the least and continued on to the south tip of the Island.

Palancar is a beautiful beach - well maintained. It has plenty of chairs and some are even under shaded palapas. We saw their resident peacock strolling the beach. He ate right out of my hand. They offer scuba, and snorkel excursions, as well as a restaurant. It is not as busy as some of the suggested beaches. We took a... More

Playa Palancar is our favorite place to go for an easy beach day. We hang out for most of the day here enjoying the sun, sand, water, drinks, lunch, and hammocks in the shade. Just ask your server to bring you one after lunch and enjoy a siesta. Mario was our server and he was always happy to bring what... More

I'd have to say this was the best beach on the island! We stayed here for 6 hours of just laying on the beach and jumping around in the water. There wasn't much to see since there wasn't any reef but the color of the water and the amazing sand just made it such a nice beach. Plus the food... More
