If your resort doesn't have a sandy beach, please stop at Playa Palancar, gorgeous fine white sand, clear blue water, lounge chairs... if you have a rental car or a taxi, drive south and dont be afraid of the rural road leading to the beach!!! Take the snorkel tour from there, Playa Palancar and Columbia Shallows, the shallows are supposed... more

This was my favorite part of our '08 cruise......the beach was not crowded, the water was beautiful, the margaritas plentiful. I found the food to be very tasty and very reasonable. Finding a taxi at the port was simple especially since we knew exactly where we wanted to go. It is a little farther out than the tourist beaches but... more

This was one of the nicer beach clubs we visited while in Cozumel. No service fee charged (Playa Corona tried to charge us a fee on top of our lunch charge). My wife and I were in Cozumel Christmas week while on a Cruise. We didn't want to go with the herds of other people on the Cruiseship excursions. Playa Palancar and the beach club located there have the distinction of being the southernmost beach club along the west (leeward) side of the island. It is located far enough away from all the areas where the majority of cruise ship passengers end up to allow a bit more elbow room, or if you want total privacy that's there too.... more

Left the cruise ship and took a cab to this place ($15) based on a recommendation from our Fodor's Caribbean Cruising book. They were spot on!
