There is nothing in town except the usual tourist traps for the luxury liners, okay restaurants and great dive shops. It is a divers' island. More

Cozumel, San Miguel, seems to get a bad wrap by some just because its in "Mexico". But that could not be the farthest from the truth. Its a very fun, safe place to visit. The locals our for the most part very friendly and courtous. We, myself and my wife go 3-4 times per year, we walk the backstreets at... More

Took a taxi from our resort to spend a few hours shopping. Only 1 cruise ship in port this day so not very busy. Main street seems to be wall-to-wall souvenir and jewelry shops. Shopkeepers all out front trying to entice you into their store, many of which sell almost the same things as the stores on either side. This... More

Typical Mexican tourist town. Lots of souvinier stalls and jewelry shops. If you're there walk around town for a while and see the plaza and church. Have a drink at the seaside and then head our on a tour or to the beach More

We loved walking around San Miguel. We found many cute and interesting shops and restaurants off the main plaza and several great restaurants off the beaten path. Just walk around and try something that looks interesting. People are very friendly. We found that most people didn't speak much English, but we had a handy little Spanish dictionary (Lonely Planet) and... More

We loved walking through the town. There are so many little shops and restaurants and people, that it makes a great place to spend an afternoon. One tip is: If you find something you like, there is probably the exact same thing a few stores down even cheaper so shop around..... and dont get roped in by the "time share... More
