Definitely go here! This is an immersive interactive experience. When you enter the building, you are immediately swept away to a different place - it is quite beautiful inside, modern, tropical, colorful, elevated yet authentic. Also, as this was key for us, all of the rooms are fully wheelchair accessible, which we were so happy to see, ramps in and... More

Wow! just an amazing experience. The staff are super friendly, and you get to make and taste your own chocolate. When you taste, you can definitely taste the freshness of the chocolate. Plus, they teach you how to recognize great chocolate. hint hint... it starts by tasting the white chocolate first. Definite good place to bring kids too. They will... More

Our taxi driver recommended we see this place. We got a tour and the guide explained the process of making chocolate and gave us sample tastes of the various flavours. The little gift shop may seem expensive but the same chocolate is more expensive at the airport.

I visit KaoKao every time I come to Cozumel. They are growing and adding new programs. On my last visit, I got to participate in their first Sensory Chocolate Experience. It was a 2 hour interactive workshop where we learned a bit of history, tasted authentic Mayan and Spanish chocolate drinks, and best of all, made chocolate from bean to... More

First we were greeted by a very friendly and informative lady. She offered us a couple options. We chose not to do the tour which was $10 per person and lasted and hour which isn't bad but we were on a private tour of the island so we didn't have time. We chose to shop for chocolates. We were shown... More

We had a day in Cozumel from our cruise ship and due to poo weather our snorkel tour was cancelled. So at the last minute we cam to Kaokao Chocolates for a tour. It was fantastic. It only cost $10 and for 1-hour they provided an informative, hands-on chocolate experience with a great tasting of their chocolates at the end.... More

This was one of the stops on our day tour of Cozumel, and it was well worth it. Even though I've been on chocolate tours before, none were as informative or hands on. Informative as it was interesting to learn about the way Mayan culture embraced cocoa. Then when we went in and used the grinders to make our very... More

We were taken there by our hired driver. The lady there is so nice. Explained the history of chocolate. They have windows you can look in and see them make chocolate. We sampled chocolates as well as were shown chocolate soap, shampoo and lip balm. They offered an 1.5 hour experience of making our own chocolate but due to time... More

Heard about this small family run enterprise through the locals. Spent a very informative one and a half hour learning everything there is to know about the history of cacao beans and its many use by the early Mayans civilization. We then proceeded to the "laboratory" for a hands on making of our own chocolate disc. The tour ended in... More

My family had visited between Xmas and New Years, enjoying the history, explanations, chocolate making and atmosphere. The tour was educational, fun, simple, organised and rewarding. the chocolate we made was delicious, and the products we bought we delicious. There is a small difference between the price in town and at the factory of about $1-3. Good fun for a... More
